Here’s my last two bucks. Same farm 4 years apart. Definitely some similar genes and a similar frame I think. [IMG]

I love big 8 pts! Just something about the clean classic look of a 8. I got a chocolate racked one back in 2012, still one of my favorite bucks.

This is him. Put a liver shot on him. He ran 75 yards and piled up. Got lucky with shot. The crazy thing is there was another buck with him that was 10" bigger. This one was at 22 yards, the other was at 40 yards. 2017-08-24 13.13.46.jpg

Wish I wouldn't have gotten rid of my RX7. Loved that bow but I really wanted to like the carbon one but after buying and shooting it for awhile, I just couldn't get confident and consistent with. Thats why I just went and bought a phase 4 and I am shooting really good with it. Not a big fan of Mathews draw cycle but it is a good bow. Really loved the draw cycle on the carbon one almost better than the RX7. I love buying and tinkering with new bows. lol Eventually I'll probably go back to a Hoyt but want to see what bow companies come out with this year.

I got the SS34 this year and it's awesome shooting bow for me. I shot the new Mathews Phase 4 and it shot better for me then the Bowtech. But I just didn't want another Mathews. Haha

Justin, do you still have the Carbon bow?

I ended up selling it to a friend of mine. Like I said the draw cycle on it was smooth, I thought I really liked the grip but after shooting it for awhile I just couldn't get comfortable with it. I think I tend to favor hoyt carbon bows lol I always tend to go back to buying a carbon. My fiance always says I don't know why you try all these other brands when I know your going to go back to the carbon Hoyt. lol

SS34 looks awesome. I’ve been shooting it’s predecessor, RealmSS since 2019. Smoothest draw cycle I tested at the time.

    Mine keep getting smaller!

2018 was my biggest buck at 142". 2019 buck walked in to 15 yards on the second day of season, so he got an arrow. 2021 buck was under my self-imposed minimum, but my daughter was in the blind begging me to shoot him.

I think that's the natural progression once you have kids! Haha

Kind of just have to make due with the time we have. Hopefully this year you will beat your personal best!

I have to worn you guys, I have some crazy things happen to me while hunting. Always something every year. This buck was one of them. Shot in September 2021. I put a bad gut shot on him. I didn't stop looking for him. On day 17 I found him in his bed, dead. Just died before I found him, still warm. I felt completely horrible about the whole situation, but I didn't give up, something told to not stop looking. There is a whole story leading up to that. 20211006_111815.jpg 20211006_111746.jpg

Yes. I try to post my stories on there. The good and the bad. It's kind of nice to go back and read them, puts me back into that moment.
