Evening guys. Caleb, hope you and the family made it safely to OK. The latest update is out guys. We're down by a little over 450 points. Hopefully a few of you guys have some 200" deer to kill. Sent from my SM-N900V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
It's a long shot, but you never know. All it would take is a few more does and a 100+ buck or two and we are back in it. Win or lose this has been an awesome run! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
You're correct, but we're running out of season. Sent from my SM-N900V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Don't sweat it, Caleb. It's all for fun. Personally I've never been on a team that could even see the top 5. Sent from my SM-N900V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
It is looking like great conditions this weekend for my area. Temps are finally dropping and we will have some sub freezing temps this weekend. It was around 80 degrees last weekend and it will get into the 20's this weekend. Hope to close the deal on the buck I have been after.
My Dad was one of the best deer hunters I've ever know...we have set and talked hunting for 1000's of hours....talked theory, philosophy and strategy. Walked the woods scouting and reading sign for 100's of miles. I've practically got a PhD in deer hunting, lol. As he got older he would often repeat the same stuff over and over and I would always listen intently like it was the very first time. He passed away last winter so he's always on my mind. Here's one of his quote's. "The quality of one's eyesight is often of less importance then the selectivity of the brain behind the eye's. A person has to see, not just look". My translation, lol...."We as hunters all basically experience a variety of simular behaviours and activities in the pursuit of a common goal....it's how we perceive, process and utilize said data that separates us as hunters"
Looks like we might be delayed a day. Their is one thing I don't talk much about, my parents. They make custom furniture and beds for a living, we have been so busy trying to finish the last beds before we move and we really haven't had time to pack the truck so it looks like we will have to load the truck. But it's no big deal now that our transporter literally just left after he picked up 2 beds and earlier in the day someone else picked up another bed. It's been one long day lol
Sorry to hear that. My dad used to hunt but he'd go way up north and sit up against a tree, but he didn't really hunt for very many years, and he never saw deer. So I like to call him the buckles uper lol. But it's pretty cool that he would do that with you!
I worked OT tonight. We finally got the truck loaded!!! I'll probably end up hitting the hay around 1:00 because I have a sink full of dishes to do
If you guys don't hear from me after we get there don't be worried, I won't have wifi at our house for awhile because it's kind of out in the middle of nowhere. Just thought I'd give you guys a heads up
Well as i put my crosshairs on this deer this morning a guy who hunts the same property did to and beat me to the punch by about 2 seconds. This is one of the 2 deer i was after this year awesome deer and his biggest he was super pumped.
Just made it to my grandpas house in Fayetteville, AR safe and sound! I've stayed up about 22 hours straight, without anything to keep me awake, that's what I call a long day.
