Thanks I filled up on late season gear in asat sanctuary bibs and jacket. My wife was not to happy either. Elite 35 80# Easton FMJ's CBE Tek Hybrid Pro Dead Ringer Freak Extreme
Good luck. I know this is easy to say, but if you get a chance at him don't forget to breathe. You'll see what I mean if he walks out.
I picked up several pieces of Sitka base layer and a vest a year ago. If I bought anymore now I'd be in trouble! Thanks for the info! Sent from my SM-N900V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Yea, I've always had a hard time shelling out the money for the higher priced camo brands but the older I get the more I realize that with most things in life, we get what we pay for... How do you like your Sitka gear? I know that lots of folks swear by it. I've got a good friend that loves the KUIU gear. I've heard good things about First Lite as well so I figured I would give it a try...and it doesn't hurt when the stuff is on sale. That was my saving grace, if there is one thing my lovely wife can get behind, it's a good deal!
I bought mine for a local store that I've dealt with for decades now. I trust their opinions. I asked what they would recommend, because I'm not buying new camo every year. I want something that lasts. They recommended Sitka. I absolutely love it! It fits great and is warm! I don't have to wear as many layers as I used to and I can still stay warm and flexible. I would recommend it for sure. Sent from my SM-N900V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
I bought a bunch of Sitka earlier this year for my elk hunt. I am on restrictions from buying any more camo for a while. The Sitka is some nice camo though. I also got addicted to Camo Fire, they always have great deals. I had to stop looking at Camo Fire before it caused me a divorce.
Good Luck Mathew, I see you didn't have any problem waking up this morning now that you have a picture of that big buck!!!!!!
I might have to get myself some sitka because I'm wearing 7 layers on my upper and 4 layers on my lower and I'm sort of stiff with all of it on. How expecive is Sitka?
I have a mix of Sitka firstlite etc. whatever is on sale. I love the weight to warmth ratios on this stuff. I remember wearing what seemed like fifty pounds to the stand. Sweat and freeze and do it again the next day. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
It is definitely one of the most expensive options out there. I wanted some Merino wool base layers and a new vest. I believe the biggest key to saying warm is keeping the heat in your core, hence, a good vest!!
I wouldn't recommend buying everything all at once. Your parents might start asking for a higher rent payment when the see you paying that much for camo. The guys are right. Watch for sales. Don't try to buy winter clothes in the fall. I bought all of my Sitka gear early last summer. That's when stuff like that will possibly have a sale. I cut back from wearing 5 layers on my arms to wearing 3. I don't count the vest since it don't effect how I bend my arms to shoot. I also have a wind stopper top that I wear when it is cold an windy but not cold enough to wear my cold, cold, weather clothing. I'll be honest when it comes to hunting clothing, I have a wardrobe that resembles that of a top model.......
I've but some of my stuff used. I don't know how you feel about that, but lightly used or brand new for a large discount. I'll take that any day over full price. I don't have any sitka, but I do wear the first lite. They have a great black Friday sale and an after season tag soup sale. Those are the only time I buy new. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
I have bought used as well. Rokslide is a great place to find stuff. Quickest way to become a millionaire is start with a billion and get into hunting. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
