Didn't find my buck, I'm thinking I only clipped a lung, or got a brisket shot, I'm honestly not sure if I hit high or low, but I know it was behind the shoulder. I found a bedding site with Very little blood. This sucks and I feel Terrible about the deer. My only hope is I get another crack at him if I don't find him tomorrow. I wanna recover him one way or another.

Where have I been? I didn't even know you shot one. When was this? Was it one you've been watching?
    Good luck on the recovery.

I mentioned it in the live from the stand thread. I shot him at 10:46am and I thought it was a touch high, but still a double lung. so I left and came back at 12:20. I figured he was dead and was confident I'd find him even though it had rained. I found my arrow in the dirt with hair on it but no blood. Started crawling on the ground finding only a few hairs hear and there. Found first blood speckles about 20 yards away which then led to some decent blood. [IMG]
We found this and some blood sprayed on a few plants around. It looks like lung blood to me. the trail stopped cold right here. I crawled around on the ground for 3 hours and found no sign outside this point, which leads me to believe he might have just bedded here and we bumped him from this spot.

I shot a buck 4 years ago. It was a liver shot. There wasn't more than a tablespoon worth of blood the whole way. We finally started tracking foot prints to find him.
    Keep us posted.

    Good luck.

Good Luck Axtell. I'm out for a short while this morning. I love hunting when it's cloudy!

Yes we have 5 of them up now and they are awesome stands. I bought the bone collector editions.

Big cold front here in Wisco on Wednesday and it's my next day to hunt. Fingers are crossed that one of the big boys visits. Saw 11 does on Wednesday night.

Passed a nice buck tonight. My partner killed a potential booner score to follow. I'll definitely be able to shoot a doe, passed 8 on Wednesday. The coming cold front should have them rocking. [IMG]

Lesser men would have been very tempted to claim it for this contest. Thanks man and congrats to your buddy, that thing is a beast and a half.

I'm very proud that we have been very successful over the last few years as hunting partners but cheating is not something I could bring myself to do. When you see me with a buck I promise it will be mine and regardless of size I'll take those pictures with pride knowing I did it the right way.
