tonight I'm going deer hunting on a little bean food plot! It's super warm but I should be able to make it through.

Just got to the stand. Its hotter than a $2 pistol. I think it's about 105 in the box blind. live from the stand! This is my first time hunting by myself! Unfortunately the beans didn't grow real well. 1506117748484.jpg

I didn't see any deer. but I almost shot a squirrel at 40 yards. I'm going to try and make it out hunting in the morning.

Good luck!! 8 days until our season kicks off. I'll be wishing I was sitting in a tree stand today. My dad and I are putting up a cedar wood privacy fence at my house this weekend. It's been a pretty big diy project so far but it's going to be worth it when we are done.

Moved one of my stands today, between a creek bottom and a stand of oaks. Was sweated down and decided since I've already left scent around I might as well stay. Can't hurt anything. Well, just had a doe, walk to about 15 from my stand, just shy of a shooting lane. And sure enough she picked me off as I was going for my bow. Bolted off a blowing. Sucks, but sure got my heart a racing.

Anyone using the Hawk Cruzr stands? Just picked up 4 of them and they seem like they will make long sits feel like a night in the recliner. Just wondering if you use them.

I'm hoping with a break in the weather this week that I can in the stand a couple of times. It was over 90 here again today.

Here too but the cold front arrives Tuesday with rain, may try a morning hunt which I usually never do before October 25th. I think I have a bedding area identified for one of my shooters and I know how he gets there.

So nothing too exciting after my first card pull last weekend. One camera had nothing, so I moved it to a better spot. The other camera had does and a couple yearling bucks showing up regularly. We will see what the next card pull brings. I know there are good bucks around, I just need to find them. It doesn't help that I had pics of guys cruising by on atv's doing geological surveys on the place...

I was curious about these stands as well. I've got a bunch of cabelas points and was thinking about picking one of these up to try out. Have you put one together and got it hung up in a tree yet??

Finally was able to get out for about an hour and a half. Saw one small buck. Beautiful evening.
