Where will you be moving to in NE OK? Oklahoma is one of the under-rated states as far as producing big bucks every year IMO. There is some great hunting across the state but especially in the eastern part of the state. I grew up hunting in Western OK and have hunted in the central part of the state for the last several years. You can kill a good buck about anywhere but one thing that is a constant issue in growing mature bucks is road hunters and poachers. There are too many people that have the mentality that "if it's brown it's down". Another issue is that rifle season is almost 3weeks long and typically lands during the heart of the rut. I'll get off of my soapbox now... It's going to be a pretty big change in weather coming from Wisconsin. You will love the Oklahoma summers... Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Hey that's good to see some deer on camera atleast. If the does are there, the big boys will be around at some point! That 8 looks like he has some good potential! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
The scary thing is the night before he had destroyed that blind! I'm glad that he smelled us because I think he would've destroyed the blind If he didn't.
were moving to westville, OK. Do you know where that is? unfortunately I know quiet a few people that have that mentality. every summer we go down there for a week and most of the time I'm outside so I'm a little used to the heat.
I just found out I might not be able to hunt tonight because of strong thunder storms. Yesterday we had a flat tire out in the middle of no where, then we had a bear almost maul us then run off behind, now thunder storms and lightning. Ther has to be a light at the end of the tunnel.
That's quite the story, I think you need to stop packing beef jerky or something. Your like bear nip. Edit: seriously though don't get frustrated, that is all apart of the hunt. you'll get your shot. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums

I was sweating, over 80 degrees, rained earlier hot and humid. Funny story. I am all about scent control, just took my scent free shower before I left and put on my scent free clothes from out of my scent free bag. I just got in my stand all set up already broke a sweat. As I am sitting I start smelling something rank, I am thinking I cant smell this bad already. I bring up my range finder to get some ranges all set up and the stench is horrible. at this time I realize the smell is coming from my wrist strap on my release. I had not thought about my release strap. All the target practice and sweating my release had absorbed, it was nasty. I didn't think I would see a thing with that smelly strap. Note make sure you clean up your release strap, mine is going into a bucket of scent free soap.
