2 really GREAT bucks so far. You guys put the pressure on everyone early. Hall your not first or last to have a scoring mistake here. Nice job double checking. Everyone here would love to take a hero shot with that buck.

Good call Tom. In reality, we're all here to help each other!

Hall, great job checking the score.

You and Kyle have put us in a good spot! Those are both awesome bucks! Congrats to you guys!

Agreed! I'd be happy with one way short of that. I'm glad he got it re-scored, it's a contest but it's still for fun and I would hate to have anyone say we cheated when we finish at the top.

Sorry guys, this is my last week of being on call at work, for this year. I've been on the phone most of the weekend including calls the last 2 nights, after going to bed. We rec'd 2.5" of rain overnight with more coming over the next few days. It is supposed to be really warm and humid through Thursday. Hoping to get out this coming weekend.

My sincerest apologies for the grammatical error there Shane and I appreciate you kindly pointing that out... Meant team 15 but was thinking "Dirty Dozen". No biggie, I'm sure my teammates knew what I meant.

But seriously bud, good luck to you this season! You killed a couple of really nice deer last year and I remember Tom killing a big Iowa buck so I'm sure this contest is going to be a lot of fun! Hopefully I have a little more success in this competition than I did in the shed hunting contest...

I haven't killed a single deer yet. But I did break my no kill streak yesterday afternoon! I went bird hunting for the first time with my friend. I also shot clays for the first time, the first clay out of the gate I destroyed! I was doing as good as my friend and she's been shooting clay longer than me. We shot 2 out of 3 birds! Here's a pic of the 2 birds we shot. I'll post some better pics when I get them. image.jpg

    tttt, pheasant hen...dude.
Those Chuckars are my favorite table fare. I used to raise around 1000 per year of those, they're a wonderful bird.

I just pulled my first card yesterday. I have deer showing up under some crab apples daily, There are alot of does which will make this a great spot to fill the freezer early, and maybe get one of the bigger boys come november. There are no mature bucks to report. although there is a young 8 point who has been showing up fairly regularly as well as a fork with only one antler.

Here is the 8, not exactly a bruiser, but could become a nice buck in a year or two if he survives.
Being as I have never arrowed a buck before, that's a big if.

He just might beat the fergie clause:moose:

Here is the broken fork, I call him Elliott from the movie Open Season.

Funny you mention Elliott. Our boys call the deer I killed back in '13, Elliott. The one I'm after now is Ian. See where I'm going with this.................

    No comment Covey.....................

That would make anybody pucker up right there! You might not want to bring donuts to snack on while in the blind next time...
