Yes sir! Looks like a shooter! If he would raise his head up out of that beautiful food plot you've got there we could get a better look at his head gear! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I was very fortunate to kill this buck 2 yrs ago. 154 7/8, by far my biggest buck to date. Next closest was 125" 8pt that I killed with a rifle about 10 yrs ago. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Had to look but I found a couple trail cam pics of him Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Those are definitely nice bucks!!! I'm pretty sure, with the amount of rain we had overnight, our bean plots flooded AGAIN!!!! I drove down there Sunday evening to see how it looked. It was still pretty damp in places. I'm sure that it is a raging river now!!!
Here is the water I'm talking about over what we call "Tornado Alley". This is due to a tornado crossing this part of our property in 2015, right after we bought the property in December of '14. This is the before and after.
Wow, looks like you've got a river running through the place now!! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Damn...bottoms are the worst. So much potential, both to be fantastic for habitat and growing stuff and for devastating flooding. We had a lot of rain and some pretty nasty wind. Looks like we had about two and a quarter inches in just a few hours early this morning.
Thats alot of water on those beans. Reminds me of growing up in Florida, lost alot of trail cameras due to flooding.
And I thought I had a issue in my plot with all the rain we have been getting. I wont complain anymore about my wet plot.
The creek is finally back in its banks. The water had cleared up quite a bit before it started down. Hopefully that will keep the beans from being completely mudded out. They were looking good last night as the water was starting to go down. We'll know this weekend how they are looking.
Man, I know I talk a lot, but where did you guys all go? This is the third time I've had to go to the second page to find our thread.....
Foodplot, With all that water, looked like a river, how can your food plot survive? I will be trying to finish up some last minute chores on my lease this weekend. need to put some new straps on my Lock-on's and have a few more lanes to cut. After that I should be ready to go opening morning Sep 16th. I leave for Colorado on 8/31 and start hunting 9/2 through 9/9 for elk. September is almost here and I cant wait.
I'll be checking my cameras today Elite 35 80# Easton FMJ's CBE Tek Hybrid Pro Dead Ringer Freak Extreme
Good Luck on the elk hunt!!! The water was only over it for a day, so if the mud didn't stick to the leaves too bad, the beans should continue on for a while. Not sure about the blooms. I'll have to try to get down there this weekend and survey the damage. This is the third time this year that they have been under water. Hopefully we can put in the fall plots down there over the Labor Day weekend.
