We’ve got western like pictured. Timber, prairie, pigmy. I’m sure a few more species of rattlers lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Got alot of shooting in today. From the ground and from treestand. Shot my compound and my longbow, shooting great with both, but not that consistent with longbow in treestand. That was a big problem for me last year. I think I missed 3 deer last year in the first week of the season. So switched back to compound and that's when I started knocking them down. Also took many shoots with broadheads and they are shooting right with the field points. Will keep shooting multiple times a day for the next 4 day before my season starts. I'm way behind this year and don't have my muscle memery setting in yet, but I will get there. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
Have you ever killed one with your long bow? I usually hunt with my recurve after I kill a few with the compound every year. I have to get my bow tuned a few days ago. It was wayyyy off. I want to try and shoot fixed blade this year. I’ve shot killzones for the last 8-9 years. I love them but don’t always get a pass through. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Unfortunately they weren’t flying like I’d hoped. I planted like 35 acres of sunflowers so everyone still managed to tag out Saturday and today. but it took a lot of shells and a whole lot of long shots compared to the past few years. Pretty much everyone I’ve talked to in NC, VA, and Maryland has had similar stories. My guess is that they’re not this far south yet for some unknown reason but I don’t really know. I know I did everything right so whatever it was that kept them away is out of my control. It’s kind of bummer they weren’t flying crazy thick but we had a heck of a time and still managed to have everyone tagged out early enough that we got all the birds cleaned and made it to the tractor pull across town before they started pulling.
2 years ago I shot my first deer with it. Spike buck. I missed I think 5 deer with it over all and killed 1. 2 of those deer were nice bucks. It is a struggle but love shooting it! Haven't decided if I will hunt with it first or get a couple deer under my belt this season. One recommend fixed head is the Tooth of the Arrow broadheads. I'm on my third season with them and they have been great. Most times after a kill, I just sharpen and put back in quiver. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
Nice! I just can’t bring myself to use mine until I’ve killed a few. I’ll check those broadheads out. When I was younger I killed a bobcat and two doe with my recurve. I haven’t shot anything with it in years now. I really need to try. I have a button buck a hair cut two years ago with it. Right across the top of the back! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
So what's the vote for captain? Is everyone good with Greg @hunterman927 as captain? Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
@Holt which Tooth of the arrow broadheads are you shooting? Looks like they have four different ones. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
View attachment 156930 When I originally ordered they only had the vented ones. When I need to get more I would definitely by the solid. As of size I have both and they both do great. For longer range shooting I would definitely go with the 1 inch. The solid 1 inch is the next one I will be getting. Also I heard they are working on a 2 blade single bevel, should be interesting to see there take on it. If you do order, use code " Lusk19 " think it gives you 15 percent off. Plus definitely order there sharpener, makes it so simple.
So I’ve been thinking of some names and all I can come up with so far is…. The Backstrap Boys or Tagout and Dragout.
