Got him home and just now was able to grab a beer and sit down to relax. Thankfully I have a buddy that has a walk-in cooler in his barn so he’s hanging in there until I can get him to the processor.

Thanks for all of the congrats guys! It was a great hunt. I had a bunch of pics from this buck and I passed him last year so there is a little bit of history. He was originally on the “pass” list to start the season simply because I had a couple of bigger deer in the area. My thoughts changed a bit when I saw him live in my truck headlights a week or so ago as I was leaving the property. Compound that with the fact that my season was going to be significantly shortened due to my upcoming surgery, he was on the hit list. Lol. I had 4 does and a fawn in front of me for probably 30-40 min and then this guy came in with his head down. My heart rate jumped as soon as I saw him up close and it was on. He pushed a few of the does out, grunting with his neck all swollen up. He gave me a perfect 12 yd broadside shot and I center punched him. He went maybe 50 yds and died right there. Blood was spraying out of him the whole way and there was a ton of blood where he ended up. Couldn’t be more blessed to tag him and I’m glad I could help contribute to the team point total. I’m probably done for the season but I will be checking in here often and rooting for all of you guys! We’re off to a good start! I’ll get him scored and posted to the scorecard thread this next week. It’s getting to be prime time out there fellas, let do this!!

I hunted all day yesterday. Had a buck go under me about 30 minutes before legal. Then after sun rise had a doe come in to 10 yards and passed, hoping a buck was near. Then at 9:50 had a shooter come off a ridge behind me. He passed at 25 yards Then took a turn and walked completely around the drainage, instead of passing right in front of me. Just being a buck! That was it for deer sightings from the stand. Did see 3 does/fawns on a creek bank bedded while I was walking in. Also had local approach me that was was feuding with neighbors. He was so mad that he wanted tell everyone about the bucks they were fighting over. Supposedly there is a big 11 pt. And and monster 10 pt that are living on the boarder of public. Another crazy hunt tonight guys! Ended up seeing 6 does and 3 bucks. All the bucks were chasing does. 1 was a huge 8 pt that I was actually pulled back on 3 time. One time I had the pin settled on him, but something told me not to shoot. It was at the last 10 minutes of light and had a small tree cover him mid body. Didn't feel comfortable forcing a shot.
