We'll see lol! Since his shift, not only is he coming from a different direction but he's also averaging an hour later. I'm just glad a vehicle didn't take him out. I'm still curious as to what buck got ran over though?!
Will do! I'm freaking excited man. I really thought he got smoked on the road. 8 days without a single picture and he's back. That's just crazy but a good teachable moment for me.
I bet you guys are excited! Getting close. The old Christmas morning feeling. Good luck guys, looking forward to the story's to come from your hunts. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
Went and pulled cards today and didn’t gain any new intel. Camera batteries were to low to take any pictures at night. I will check it tomorrow after the morning hunt. As of right now. The 5x3 will get a pass as that 8 point is my main focus.
Had to climb down early tonight… damn storm stayed further east than planned and headed right towards me. Things were starting to get a bit sketchy and I was a bit seasick from all the swaying sp decided to pack it in about 15 minutes before sunset. I did have a shot on a massive 10pt buck around 5pm. He gave me a nice broadside at 30yd but it was right in the middle of a big gust and my tree was moving too much to get a shot off. By the time a lull came through the only opportunities I got were a front on shot and a few ass shots.
I partied way to hard at Koe last night! I’ll be in the stand this evening. Good luck guys. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
So far, nothing. I did hear some come through this morning but it was just to dark still. The older I get the more I appreciate this view!
Rule 3a has been revised to no longer require bow in recover video… Alrighty guys, I’ve gotta do a “Captain” thing here. I wanna make sure everyone has read and completely understand the rules of entering a deer into the contest. I’ll paste them below! Us captains have already had to vote on one and it looks like we’re about to again. Rules for entry: 1. All deer entered into this contest must be harvested legally within the laws and regulations of the state or province in which it was harvested. This contest is only for fun so please, don't break the law. 2. All deer entered into this contest must be harvested with archery equipment only. After all, this is Bowhunting.com. This includescompound bows, traditional equipment, or crossbows. This means you can't shoot a deer with a gun and enter it into this contest. 3. All entries must be accompanied by a minimum of TWO (2) photos of the hunter with the deer and your archery equipmentin the picture. If you can manage to take one picture, you can also manage to move 4 feet to the side and take another one. It's not thathard. There will be NO exceptions to thisrule. Two photos with the hunter, deer, and bow in the photo or it won't count. If yousubmit a deer without two photos, it will not count. Consider this your warning. This goes for both does as well as bucks. 3a. If you harvest the deer on film and can provide footage of you shooting the animal along with post-recovery footage that will suffice in place of two photos. Footage must be posted online for everyone to see. 4. Along with your photo (or video) you must post the date and time in which the deer was shot. 5. If possible, provide a list of the followinginformation along with your harvest photos. We want to know what kind of gear everyone is using. This is optional. If you don't list your equipment, your deer will still count. Bow Make/Model Broadhead Make/Model/Weight Arrow Make/Model
Yes it happens all the time, even to the veterans of the contest. The bow not in the pics seems to be the big one that happens the most. But in Johnny Miller's case, he films all his hunts for the show. So I'm sure that will count for the contest once the show airs. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
It’s a PITA to do the photos for me and I still get it done. I am almost always hunting solo during bow season and it’s really tough to prop up the phone just right so that everything is in frame, start the countdown timer without moving the phone or knocking it over them run over grab your bow and the deer and get yourself in the picture in the 10 second maximum timer that the iPhone has. Particularly with evening hunts when it’s dark by the time you recover the deer so you also have to deal with lighting and exposure etc…
