I know! I've never seen a buck that big on the hoof so I really hope I don't panic if I get a chance at him. But I sure want to have the chance!!

Man I hope that's what heaven looks like! Beautiful place! If it were me, I'd put a food plot in 20 yards from the front porch! Best of luck!

Great job Jedi. Hell I was just stopping by to make a post to get us back on the first page and Bam 50 points. That's a heck of a start. You can blink around here without somebody killin' something :-). Hey, maybe we should take that angle on a team name. Just a thought, but I'm not feeling anything right now though.

I'm good with Ridge as the Cap'n.

Oh heck guys we gotta get back on the 1st page. Temps are down this week and wish I was hunting! Mid to high 80's for the next 10 days which is pretty nice around here this time of year. Gonna try to sneak in an evening sit tomorrow but now sure with kids school and sports. Will definitely be there Saturday morning and evening.

My work schedule has been a nightmare lately. Worked graves last night from 7pm to 7am and then back today for finish an 8 hour swing from 3pm to 11pm. But at least it's my Friday! Next week is gonna suck balls. Swings from 11am to 11pm on Sunday, then back to cover dayshift from 7am to 7pm on Monday and graves from 7pm to 7am tuesday night. But at least I only work 3 days next week. 12 hour days are nice cause you get longer weekends but man you're done at the end of your work week let me tell ya.

I'll keep y'all posted on how it goes. If I shoot that big guy, you might hear me screaming in the midwest!! Haha!!

I was shooting my bow tonight, taking advantage of this cool evening. Don't think the temp hit 80 today!

Do you any of you use hang-on treestands?

I bought one last year to be more mobile and never could figure it out. Its a Hawk Mega combat and it has a tree cleat behind the seat to dig into the tree.

When I try and set this thing, it digs into the tree, I then push the platform down and it doesn't seem sturdy. As I stand on the platform the cleat is actually no longer touching the tree. Am I missing something?

Sounds like a brutal work schedule, man, but sounds like you'll get some time to hunt. It's been cooler here too and makes me wish fall and season opener was closer. I'll keep an ear out Saturday for any celebratory screaming from the west! Good luck!

My lone wolf doesn't give me problems like that. I had to learn to keep the platform up while tightening straps and then lower the platform. This causes the cleat to bite and put more pressure on the strap, but it seems yours is opposite of this. If I read that right. Anyway see if there is a YouTube video for hanging yours. A lot of times there are and are very helpful. I love my hang on.

Maybe try a ratchet strap or something, sounds like you aren't getting the strap tight enough. Those sinch straps are nice in theory but you need something that will get real tight and not give. Ratchets are noisy but you can take your time and get it done

I second this idea. Extra ratchet straps always come in handy with hang ons. Whether it’s the problem bukfvr is having, or if the straps that come with the stand or sticks aren’t big enough for the tree, or if you just want to feel safer, ratchet straps are the way to go. Home Depot has a pack of 4 right now for 12 bucks I think and I’ve been hoarding them lately.

Been a busy week! I guess I need to get on some team maintenance, but I'm not in much of a rush. I think we will get 2 more members this weekend, so I think I'll wait till we are completely set. I saw some names in the alternate list I wouldn't mind picking up. Guess we'll see.

Heading up to the camp to do final preps. This will be my last trip until it’s time to hunt. Checked 3 cameras last weekend and didn’t have much but does, pigs, and young bucks. Not out of the ordinary for me this time of year. Hoping to have something on camera this week just to build on that excitement
