Checked cam on way in. #1 from last year is back as a 10 and big as ever. In daylight. Below a stand I was saving till rut. I can't kill another buck till 10 Nov. But holy crap I hope he hangs around.

Headed out at my father in laws property in northern Ohio tomorrow morning. Been some giants killed here over the years. But I’d be happy just downing a doe.

Well I ended up only seeing a doe and a fawn long distance today. Farmer didn't start cutting corn till lunch time and by that time I was ready to call it. We have had 40-50 mph winds most of the afternoon. I did pull the chip on the camera I hung over the scrape Wednesday evening.

    Had several bucks on camera.

Also thought this picture sequence was interesting. Timing was from my walk into the blind this morning.

Well since the 10 point has shown back up, I probably wont hunt that spot any more till 10 November. It's my closest spot with easy access, but I do have options. I need a doe for some more meat to put up. Good luck fellas. Hope you guys who haven't posted here in a while are doing well. All the good parts of the season are firing up.

I texted my boss today and asked him if I could take this Thursday so that's the only update I have. I'll be out in a pretty good pinch between bedding. Just need a day-walker!

Haven’t posted in a while so figured I’d give an update. I’ll be out hunting the next 3 weekends in Missouri. Still waiting on the corn to get cut on one of our properties but do have other spots to go if it’s not ready by this weekend. Good luck to everyone who’s out there hunting!

Best of luck! It's really picking up in my part of MO. Bucks are seeking like crazy here. Camera has several new arrivals.

That’s great to hear. I’ll be checking cameras on my way in for the first hunt and determining what things look like from there. Hopefully it will narrow down what stands to hunt.

Just shot a big doe. Pretty sure I saw her fall. I'll get pictures later. Now I need a buck to show up :)

So here is the scoop and some after dark pictures.

I lined up a hunt this afternoon with my older brother. He is just coming off double hip replacement in June. I knew they would still be picking corn!

Took him to my lease and dropped him off 15 yards from the stand that I had picked for him to hunt. Circled the lease a ways and stopped at one of my favorite stands to hunt.

Hadn't set for 15 minutes when I started seeing deer. That combine sure got loud....

Long story short I shot a nanny doe at 18 yards. My brother shot a doe also 15 minutes later. We sat and watched a paraded of deer come out of the corn. I think the total was 10-12 that we saw during the short time we hunted.

I'll get the doe added to the score card tomorrow.

Looks like November before I can get out. My daughter will be going in to be induced to have my first Grandbaby tomorrow morning. I have a lot of furniture stuff to finish in the next couple of weeks.

I have been seeing quite a bit of activity and deer movement in my area, I just have to make time to get out.
