Gross score is what you post so you are right on that.... Two things I noticed... Looks like you are missing 2 circumference measurements. I believe every deer (even spikes) have 4 circumference measurements? The other thing is that it looks like you may be adding the difference in main-beam length into the score, which you don't do. When I added up everything you have posted I got: 66 4/8 But again, you still have 2 Circumference measurements to add in there (and my math stinks too :-) Hope that helps! Someone else may notice something I've haven't mentioned or missed... Let me know if you have any other questions. Here is a link to some instructions by B&C. Its even a calculator so you can fill in all the blanks and it will score it for you - just make sure to look at the Gross score as most of the scoring calculators list the NET as kinda the 'first' score... http://www.boone-crockett.org/bgrec...sp?area=bgrecords&type=Typical+Whitetail+Deer Basically the score is all these added together: 2 main-beam measurements 4 circumference measurements Add each point (the G measurements) inside spread
On the left side he had nothing after the G2...He's pretty busted up...certainly appreciate the help!!! The format of my scoring looks pretty meassed up too...think ill edit that to make it easier to read
DUH, good luck getting after those guys! Let us all know what the big one scores when your standing behind him holding his rack..
Great pics DU!! So here is something very very interesting.... I remember 10/27 very well.... I had 3 bucks underneath my stand that morning and then when I pulled my trail cam from one of my other main areas I had pics of bucks cruising that morning.... Notice your big boy was active during daylight hours on that morning too... Just thinking - wonder what the deal was with 10/27 this year?? Intriguing thought.... :-)
That's a good observation... I'm going to check my camera dates and see if there was anything special going one in WI the 27th. Sure would love to see a trend and maybe a coldfront or a new/full moon.
Very interesting observation indeed! I took my buck on the 28th, and had several others cruisen...I remember it was actually quite a bit colder on the 27th, clear skies, minimal wind by me. The 28th was also cold in the morning but not as cold as the 27th. I think the 27th was one of the coldest mornings thus far this year.
Gonna be an all day sit for me tomorrow - super excited. Unfortunately it's going to be my B stand because of the wind - but hey, you never know.... Good luck to everyone hunting this weekend - should be a great one!!
SDH, good luck! I just had a shooter respond to some rattling, he came downwind of us and he went back to where he came. Moved our setup 100 yards or so upwind hoping to get behind these deer!
That buck in picture 10 (and 17)... Is. A. Stud! Seem to be near by during shooting hours too! Good Luck buddy!
Wow - those are some awesome bucks DU!!! Good luck! Was a disappointing sit today... All day sit, just one small buck cruising mid morning.... Hoped with the front moving in tonight that deer would be on their feet but I just didn't see it.... Like a 30 degree temp drop from today to Sun/Mon - so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Thought it's raining like cats and dogs right now - which for us in Nov is unusual... My daughter is singing with the Sunday School choir for the first time tomorrow so I won't make it out early... You can bet I'll be heading out soon as I can after church though! Then I'm off until Thursday - gotta make something happen!! Good luck everyone!
Wow - what a rough sit today... Temp in the teens, wind gusting up to 35 - I felt like a block of ice when I got back to my truck... Wind is suppose to not be quite as brutal tomorrow - we'll see.... I think I'm going to see if I can find my pac boots - hard to climb into the stand with them on, but they keep my toes a lot warmer than my rubber boots...
