Here are some of the bucks on my lease from last year. I know the big one made it as I saw him after the season ended. The drop tine may have died of old age. I believe he is 8 years old as I have picture of him for at least the past 6 years. Ignore the date on the first pic below (battery glitch). Here he is last year. 2018 2016 9 Point from last year Couple smaller 8's Should have some good ones again this year. Cameras will go up as soon as I start seeing scrapes..
That drop tine is an old warrior. That would be great to outfox him. You have some good bucks, hopefully they stick around. I haven’t had great luck the last couple seasons letting borderline bucks walk. So far the investment hasn’t paid off. Maybe this will be the year. I know I have to many does on the property but plan on jumping on that problem early and often.
Yeah I like to shoot does off the lease early in the season if I can.... Some of them old does are hard to kill though!
I had this young buck at 5 yards (3 different times) last year and couldn't pull the trigger. Also passed on this tank twice. Either one will probably get an arrow this season!
This is the only buck I have with potential so far. Depending on what he looks like when the velvet comes off he might make the grade. I rarely have any good bucks on camera over the summer so time will tell. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Those two bucks look pretty good Josh. You have bigger but those two would be shooters for me this year all day long. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yep! I have pretty reasonable expectations for my little hunting properties. I'll hope to shoot one of the monsters, but I'm also not passing a 130" 3 year old.
When you can’t go to the range but want to shoot. It’s better than nothing I guess. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I can do 11 yards in the basement or 17 in the back yard. Not much, but that's about how far I normally shoot at deer.
Unfortunately, I can’t shoot outside at the house. I’m in town and there are just to many kids running around to chance it. Like you said most of my whitetail shots are less than 20 yards anyway but I do like to practice at longer ranges when I can.
Here is my 11pt buck from last year, and a trail camera picture of the one that got away! I missed this buck 3 years ago shot right over his back, haven't seen a trace of him since! He may be gone but he is the kind of buck I am striving for off this property this year This will be my first year taking my wife hunting and it will be interesting to see how it goes! I've never really taken someone hunting before so I'll take any advice y'all got!
I haven't had a opportunity to get any trail cameras out this year yet, but here are some bucks I got on camera last year! Also great offer Tony! I hope someone takes you up on that offer!
