OK guys, let's get this show on the road. Nice to be part of Team 14, I'll do my best to put some points on the board!
Who am I? I'm the same "early in" who's been around here for the last 10 years. I live/hunt in the suburbs of Philly, and I love killing deer!
Checking in! Y’all can call me Simplman or Kenny. I’m a full time firefighter and work part time with an electrician company. I’m from Kansas City and will be hunting a very low pressured farm North of KC. Hope everyone is gearing up for a fun season! -Simplman-
Oh man, some familiar faces here...believe Carp and I have shared a few teams together now. Ty Miller from Indiana...plan this year is to only hunt IN but....do have some nice bucks for my area that I'm very familiar with...a few got passes last year that won't this year. I'm almost always good for 50 points (doe) and a buck more than not but no promises. Remember fellas to just PLEASE stay active and check in here from time to time...nothing will make you hate your team and the contest more than inactive members. One of my favorite teams was one of my worst, but we all communicated and had a blast following eachother's seasons!
So very true! I mentioned this before, it's the participation that makes it fun. I've been on less than active teams where I didn't enjoy myself a whole lot. Last year though, on Team 4 everyone shared and we had fun finishing second place.
I ain’t promising anything.... Will say that I’ll try and check our team thread daily and won’t give up til end of season! Any thoughts on a team name and who will serve as the captain?
Everyone needs to get checked in before we get into all of that. I'll give a team name some thought though.
The only time you'll see me "inactive" is going to be the September 10-17th this year for my honey moon! My soon to be wife knew she didn't want to compete with deer season for anniversaries each year. Smart woman I tell ya! Haha My season in Texas starts September 29th. I was fortunate enough to bag a buck and doe last year in the contest! Hope the success continues.
I went to school to be a fire fighter originally and have had family that did it and retired. You work 24hrs on 48 off? You should have a pretty decent schedule and a lot of time to work when you're not doing the second job!
agreed.....fair warning I'm of the oddly deep or meaningful name varieties....will share some probably in a day or two and sometime down the road we can have a team vote of all brought up by all!
I fly into Philadelphia about once every other month man. I'm actually flying in there Sunday. I have in office in Croydon that I'm over. Might have to link up sometime!
Yeah I work a 24/48 schedule. Unfortunately I always seem to be the busiest in the fall... Last year I only got to sit 5 times, but I had a newborn at home. I did harvest a nice buck though. This year I’m gonna put some good time in the woods to make up for last year!
I can only imagine! Now that baby is a little older so it may not be as bad for you to sneak off to the woods now!
Sup fellas! I'm Josh. I live in Westerville, OH (Columbus metro area) and have been on here since before the site went public. Between here and the old site (HNI), I've met some of my best friends. I'm not nearly as active as I once was -mostly due to a pretty busy lifestyle, but I'll be taking a full month off (Oct 27 - Nov 26) to dedicate to the cause this season. I'm a single father of two soon-to-be college freshman daughters, a cop (state patrol) and I work four 10's with Fri/Sat/Sun off during my normal work weeks, so I have zero excuses to not produce! Not that I like to put pressure on, myself... last season was a total bust! But that's only happened twice in my life... and I'm an optimist, and we're rapidly approaching a new season! Glad to be on the team and I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone.. or in some cases, getting to know a few familiar teammates better.
Josh/OH, an entire month of nothing but being out in the woods sounds like the life!!! Shake last season off and let’s put some meat in the freezer!
