Good luck man! I don't head to Pa. until Nov 2nd. So I'll have to live through you guys until then. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Haha! But once my season ends the end of Oct 29th, I'll have to live through all you guys! But it makes for a nice long season!
I'll fill you guys in on my season so far.... This will be my first year hunting a few properties. One is right off of a state park. It has a lot of foot traffic but unfortunately no shooters on cameras yet. This has been discouraging. So to amp things up I knocked on a few doors and got access to some really nice river bottom timber a couple miles away. Set cameras last week but I have high hopes on this one. Also will be hunting some SW Iowa as well. No cameras on this piece as it is couple hours away. Has been good for me in shotgun seasons past. Hoping to get it set up for bow season.
I'm in Sioux Falls. I have hunted along the river but I don't much anymore. There are a lot of deer but there are a lot of hunters too. The deer all have phd's!
Ha I live 45 min from ya! Small world. The spot on the river i have permission to only allows one other hunter on it. Hopefully that helps!
Alright guys. I'm Fitz. I'm up here in Northern Minnesota. I only get one tag, but luckily this year it's hunter's choice again, so I can try and down a doe in the late season if none of the bucks cooperate. My season opens Sept 16th, but I most likely won't be hunting until October. I'm headed out to Wyoming right after my season open to film Todd Graf on an elk hunt. I was late to the game this year getting my trail cameras out, but I have one nice buck on cameras so far. Still waiting on 2 or 3 of the big boys from last year to show up, but one of them hasn't come around until late Oct.
Once we decide on a team name, I can throw together a logo for us. I'll start throwing out a few name ideas as they come.
I'll introduce myself since I don't know many of you. I'm Parker and I hunt in Mississippi. I'm a graduate student and I'm really not sure how much time I'll have to hunt. I know I can hunt over Thanksgiving and Christmas break. In Mississippi I can hunt with my bow in all seasons. This is my first year in the contest so I don't really know what to expect but I'm looking forward to it! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Welcome to the team Parker. I'm new to the contest and actually new to bow hunting myself. I will be hunting in Pa. Nov 2nd -13th on family farm. Good luck! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Well here's my introduction. My name is Josh, I hunt and grew up in Central Wisconsin and I currently am working and going to college in the Green Bay Area. With school I will have to be a weekend warrior but I have some good bucks to chase this year back home. This is my first year in the contest but I have been bowhunting since I was 13! Need to tell Todd he should film you on an elk hunt. You deserve it! And the footage last year was great by the way! Can't wait to see this year's hunt.
I think I read someplace in the contest rules the captain buys donuts and coffee for the team every morning hunt! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Captain's duties are fairly easy. Be the main communicator between a team and myself, help to insure that teammates are entering their deer correctly, if called upon vote on and issue/rule change & all around try and keep the conversations going. Although I can certainly fill those duties, it's kind of nice to have someone else do it since I'm dealing with every other teams' issues. ... it's easy, especailly when I'm on your team.
You raise several good points sir. I'll do it! If that's what the people want i guess. Still missing a good chunk of fellas. I'll send them a quick message.
