Been out most the day today. Passed a solid deer this morning. Just not what I’m looking for. Also had a cool encounter with a young heavy racked 8 point. Nothing yet this afternoon. It’s been very windy here.

I got here yesterday, the front coming out of the gulf of Mexico made everything muggy. Today all day rain. Got to sit for four hours until another front came through and rained for three hours. Had a buck chasing a doe last night on camera only, didn't seem anything was moving during the day. Weather forecast is lite rain for a couple of days before a front comes out of the north. Probably hunt until Sat or Sunday all depends on the weather. [IMG]

Cameras are starting to show good activity. I hope to make it out a time or two this weekend.

Heartbreaking to say this but i missed this dude yesterday morning at 37 yards. Rushed the shot and clean missed. Ive never actually went after a target buck like this and it was a trip to realize that the buck i was shooting at was the 1 i said the day b4 i was going in after. After the shot i just had to laugh as i watched him graze off to bed down. Had to shoot thru a hole in the limb in the pic.

Dam, good to laugh it off. It's enough pressure trying to hunt these amazing animals. Fingers crossed he comes back around

Back home today myself, weather was crappy for 3 days, nothing was moving until late evening. Today was better. Three does came through but all under age and not enough meat. Resting up for two days and getting after it again. Hoping the cold front comes down. Watched these two for ten minutes before they moved off. [IMG]

In the tree waiting to kill! Could be a really good sit. A little warmer than I’d like but it’s November 4th. Rained all day yesterday and misting right now. Love this time of year!

Amber added another notch in her collar yesterday, a friend's buck (6pt) with a sparse blood trail. She covered the 150yd track in just a few minutes.

I've been seeing some nice 3-1/2's on camera, but only a three ptr showed tonight. Back in the saddle on Thurs...

    Good luck guys!

I have been rained out every time I have had a chance to go to this point. Looks like more rain today and then dry for a while. I will absolutely make it to the woods in the next couple of days. We have had more rain the first week of rut than we had combined since the first of August. Not a lot of deer being killed locally but that will change soon.

I got wet this morning. Small bucks were cruising. Supposed to quit raining at noon and the wind is switching which is perfect for the property I’ve been wanting to hunt! Sitting the tree I killed from last year!

I was able to get out this afternoon. I could hear a chase going on into the deeper wood, but never got to see any of it. Two does later came into my bait pile - just after sunset. I waited until the bigger doe gave me the shot angle I wanted, and saw her crash @40yds. Doe pic shows the exit hole.
