I made it back home safe and sound. Yep we got 50 more points from IL. I'll get things sorted out and post up some pics tomorrow night. Gotta unpack and get to bed now.

Congrats on your doe Ben!

Good to hear you had some success John! Congrats. I'm heading out this evening to the set where I saw the does and 6 point Sunday evening. Hopefully tonight is the night.

Here are a couple of pics from my doe harvest. If you notice a missing arrow from my quiver, I'm using it to trip the shutter on my camera. The self time was having issues! so I had to push the button with my broadhead. You'll be able to see the kill on video in a few days. I have to send the hard drive in and let the crew do their magic.

I also hit a doe on Friday evening in my food plot. I have it on video also. She ducked my shot and it hit her high in the shoulder/neck area. I don't think it was a lethal hit, but I looked the next day and found very little blood and I heard her running thru the woods for a looooong ways after the shot.

What'd you do shoot her in the shoulder with a red paintball? Holy crap what an exit hole!

Holy cow John, I bet she left a great bloodtrail! Congrats again...

Still leading but now that everyone is hunting or close to hunting it looks like we're going to have to keep putting them down to stay on top!

Do you even have an opportunity at a doe in ND after taking your buck?

I will be back in IL this weekend looking for antlers. I had a pic of what I think is an 11 pointer in my food plot at 2:00 AM on Oct 1st. I have to figure out where he is living. I'll post up his pic tonight at home.

Gonna be kind of hard to see those sight pins at 02:00 John... Hopefully you'll find him once the sun comes up.

Sure do have an extra doe tag in my pocket. Will be heading up within the next month to try and fill it. If not I'll be up after the gun season is over, season closes beginning of January.

Have some turkey tags that I have to fit in the next month as well...

I got this guy standing in front of one of my stands at 2:00 in the morning. I think he is the 11 pointer I have pics of in velvet.

Not sure this is the same buck, but this is closer to shooting time.

I need a South wind to hunt this stand and that's what they are calling for this weekend.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for ya John. I'll be spending the 3 day weekend in Anchorage with my girlfriend. What was I thinking?!!! There's fresh snow in the mountains and a goat tag in my pack!!!! When I get back it's game on!! Oh wait, I have to go to sea next week for a couple days. But when I get back from that it's really Game On!!!

    haha x2.....

Nice looking buck John, hope you get a crack at him. Is that fog in the pictures or moisture on the camera lense?

I'm a federal fisheries biologist. Most of my work associates in the Seattle office wonder the same thing!

I'm headed out on a commercial trawler next week to research methods for estimating catch (size and composition) by our at sea biologists (observers).

Alright Guys and Gal I'm off to Anchorage for the weekend. Put the smack down on some critters this weekend for us. We're only 100 or so points off the winning score from last year (with 8 man teams). A couple good bruisers or a pile of does should cement our lead! I'd like to see us break 800 points by the end though. Get to it!!!

Stay safe and have fun all, I'll talk to ya on Tuesday!

I'm headed to the farm in a couple of hours. What a difference a week makes, last week there was places around me that had frost, this week we are near record high temps.

It's supposed to be near 90* Saturday and Sunday. But I'll be out there after them, they are still there.
