Will do, headed to the farm tonight after work. Huntin Friday thru Monday. Any doe will do, but it's gonna have to be a good buck for me to kill one this weekend. The weather is gonna be perfect. Lows in the low 40's and highs in the 60's.
John, I'll be txtn' ya Saturday. Just did something I needed to do, but didn't want to. We're getting hellish rain here, and I haven't had the time to set my blind in a spot that I will hunt in a few weeks. Yep, I went out and did it in this downpour so my scent would be diminished. I looked like a drowned rat. It's done though and now that I am showered, I feel good. Bring on the season.
Got 50 points laying overnight. Backed out after a shot that looked iffy. I'll be back out at 7am. Edit. Checked weather. Going back at midnight.
Confirmed. Add 50 to the total. She went 40 yards. Working on 22 hours awake. Night team, let's stay out in front on this thing.
Sorry T, to be honest. I wasn't real thrilled with the shot and this was a doe I have TONS of history with. To be honest, at one point I thought there was a buck up the hill and I didn't care. I have been playing a game with this big girl for 3 years now and it ended last night, on film, with me shooting her further back more than I wanted. The shot was better than I thought and she expired 40 yards away. So I feel better now, I just wish I could have go some better pics, but the midnight recovery was a bit rushed. I am gonna do a write up on her later.
Hey Rob time to shift gears and get after the deer. No better way to put that bad NM experience behind you than to stick a monster whitetail!
Congrats on the doe Ben! I've been out twice now and had deer within bow range both times. A couple of does and a 6 point came in yesterday evening. I'm waiting till I hunt these new setups a couple of times before I shoot a doe. I have a limited shooting lane and I wasn't sure what was coming in behind the doe's. Anyway, I've been seeing deer and hoping to see the biggun I was watching a couple of weeks ago.
