We had 32 with it "feeling like 29" according to my phone. I ended up getting all set up by about 4:30am and ended up seeing jack squat. I had a bunch of deer around me but with it being a full moon and no over cast, everything went to bed early. I sat until about 9:30 then had to get home so it was a bit of a bummer. BUT tomorrow morning I'll be back at it again and praying for some providential blessings to fling an arrow!

I’ll be out again tonight. Still on a cold spell so figure it’ll be a decent chance. Then warmer for a while. Kids are excited for me to get at something so might be one of the less picky sits. Well see how impulses go as well.

I'll have my pick of days to hunt starting in a week, so the entire rut will be mine to hunt.

Nice bucks preach. Really looking forward to how your season turns out.
I checked cam while I got out for sitting other night. The day before my decent buck was there hour before last light and day before that there with friends, and my sit zero...
hopefully get out again soon. warm weather for a bit then cools down so that should stir some things up again

I passed two spikes yesterday that were together, and saw two different doe groups that wasn’t in range they were about 45 yards. Just 10 more yards and I’d tried it.

I am itching to go ,but haven’t been yet. We run a boarding and training kennel. Can’t leave my wife with 50 dogs.
Finding help i.e. people who want to work,is very difficult,at least around here. When fall break ends in about ten days I hope to hit the woods hard!

Warming up here until next week. Won't be sitting until next weekend. I used to overhunt our area and I have really tried to avoid that the last couple years. Gives time for crops to get out too. Good luck to anyone getting out.

I could use some wood therapy. I haven't been able to do any evening sits for quite some time and likely won't be able to unless my son starts sleeping like a champ. I am stuck to mornings on the weekends. Saturday moon is supposed to be underfoot at 7 something so perhaps it'll be a day with a blessing I'm form of a harvest!

Afternoon boys! Little update from the stand. Got a call last night that I can hunt a new piece of property! So I came out here this morning. Never scouted it before and just sat on the side of the high line had a doe walk up to be about 15 feet as I was sitting on the ground . See three more after that and a coyote. Found few scraps so I'm just on the edge of that. Might be punching a doe tag tonight!

13 does and a black bear at 20 yards. Oh and one coyote. When your sitting on the ground and no blind and a bear walks out next to you makes the blood pump lol. No deer in range though. Be out there tomorrow Evening though. How did everyone else do?

Chance I might sit tonight. Otherwise cools down big time mid next week which should get them going. Might hold off til then. Hoping to finish installing a garage door later today then guess I’ll see how it looks. Couple hour after dark heard 2 gun shots last night. The trend that continues here. Hoping wasn’t deer but some local idiots always change up patterns like that

I did an evening hunt yesterday. I spooked two (couldn't tell what they were) not 20yrds from my tree on the way in. Didn't see anything else for the duration. Figures. I did find two small scrapes on my way in as well.
Also checked my cams, but only had a couple basket 8pts, a 6pt, a spike, and a few doe. Nothing I would shoot showing up yet. The season is young! I'll wait another week or so before I hunt again, I want some of the vegetation to thin out a bit for better overall visibility.

Not hunting either, but been getting more into a hobby and this weekend got some peppers. Made some sauce I tried on wings today, very tasty, got a bunch vacuum sealed and fermenting, and gonna do some more tomorrow. I’m a heat fan so always fun playing with super hots.
