Saw one of the midsize crossing the field last night. I’d guess 100” 3 1/2, roughly. Definitely good enough for me. Hopefully some action for Saturday

Good luck this weekend. What's the weather going to be like?
It's still too hot & dry down this way. Hurricane Sally should give us some rain over the next two days. I plan on planting food plots first week of October or so.

It's supposed to be 48F in the morning, and a high of just 64F, with partly cloudy skies. That's literally perfect, and kind of unusual for my region for mid Sept. It's usually hotter.
I'm probably going to let the opening day crowd have at it Sat, as I'll wait for next week. I usually have the woods to myself during the week.

I just looked and I’ll be a few degrees cooler, 45 & 61. I’ll call it pretty solid weather too. Days before are a little cooler, wish it was the cool one after warmer but nothing major, and saw some out in these temps. I’m all set and ready for it now besides we gotta grab our tags. Wife’s around so we’ll be out and see how things play out. Reasonably good potential

Haven’t really had an all hands consensus but as the previous 2 posts mentioned, Jenson is our Captain and I think we’re going with “Midwest Rack Attack”. Not all of us are from the Midwest though, maybe just “Rack Attack”??? Maybe we should be the “Indecisives”. Jenson, gets the final say.

Good luck to all those who’s seasons are starting!!! I’m ready, come on October 1st.

Checked cameras yesterday. Nothing too exciting. Looks like most of velvet is off. We have a neighboring field that has beans and I'm willing to bet most of deer are around that area. Hopefully it gets picked early as we have corn in our field. Some decent young bucks. Got a ground blind set up for my dad. Got tags and new arrows. Need to get shooting more. I've done a poor job of practicing this off season. Need to ramp it up before hunting.

I don't care about name. Looks like we have one. Go with it. We have a captain. Now go get after some deer. Still a few weeks out for me.

I checked cameras Tuesday, same here, nothing impressive. I did see more bucks, all small. But thats cool with me, because I hunt for the freezer. I do keep seeing this small 6, his rack is straight up, almost touching. I think hes cool. Next Saturday will be my opener, probably hunt that afternoon, because waking up early after a Friday night of jack never happens:beer::confused:

Big opener tomorrow. Been checking camera nothing but does. So might be a late season before something nice comes around. But get that 50 points for a doe fast!

Hour and half and hitting the stand. Last night got to see a few out, hopefully right one is back out tonight. Checked cam for that stand quick mid day. Was hoping for little more action but hopefully just missed cam or making it past tonight. Warmer than would hope for but will make it enjoyable siting. Good luck to you guys that are out or will be too
