That’s awesome. Congrats! Great way to start the morning. Nothing wrong with him at all, you’re setting the bar bad for when I call one big or small :)

Nice work mongo!!!! Had a big buck 70 yards from me Thursday night. He got downwind and slipped away. Not much else. Trying tomorrow night as the wind should die down to 19 mph.

    Good job Mongo!
I am gonna try tonight. Really windy here.
Got a new one on camera though.

Good sit tonight. Nothing shot. Had a small 8 point 5 yards in front of me broadside. Wish that would have been a bigger deer. Came in perfectly.

Saw a coyote chasing a doe today also. Haven’t seen that before. Seen coyotes, but not a full chase. I saw doe come through first and thought big buck would be following. Didn’t have any chance for a shot or I would have went after coyote.

I sat again. Bumped a doe on way to stand. Wife saw 2 does out of range. And my rabbit made a visit. Has been a bit frustrating this season. Might not be able to sit til rifle opens. Might grab a tag and get few sits in just to change things up and hit other stands. Can get out with the kids with me in a non disturbing low potential spot so they’re pumped. Well see how it goes. Kinda lost tons of optimism for the season but we’ll see

Was recently invited by a friend to hunt his in-laws private farm. It’s 50 acres of well managed trails, timber and food plots. Blinds up on all the plots and complimentary access to hunt with Ravin crossbows. I couldn’t say no, when in Rome right? Super windy tonight so was nice being in a blind for a change. Numerous does presented themselves at last light and the biggest of the bunch was kind enough to present me with a broadside shot at 15 yards. Absolutely smoked her, double lung heart shot. Can’t say enough about those Ravins, wow. Blood at impact and then all over the food plot. Easy track that the kids enjoyed. She died within seconds of the hit, 10 yards into the timber, ran 40 yards maybe. She’s on the scorecard. I’ll be back at it tomorrow looking for that wall hanger. First pic is entrance, second is exit.

Gotta say, I have never been a fan of crossbows, until I shot one. With a shoulder that’s on its last leg, I might be selling a kidney for one of these Ravin crossbows. Unbelievably accurate, fast, light. Very impressed. Team 14’s on a roll!!! Good luck to all and Congrats to those that have been blessed already with meat in the freezer.

Congrats Illinois! Nice pile of meat and sounds like a great time getting it. Cant beat that.
I’ve been curious to try a crossbow sometime. Separated my shoulder one season and coulda had a dr ok one but instead let it screw my season. Next time won’t make that mistake. Think we might be able to use one for rifle season, only for bow with dr or 60+ maybe. They sound fun to try. Someday

I like seeing all the success!!! Hot week coming up here. I guess that makes it easy to sit all day. 60's for highs and low in 40-50.

I will try to get the buck on the scorecard thread soon. I just haven't got a score figured up yet, after I dropped it off at the butcher, I went to a party that lasted til 6 and had another event all day Sunday. I'm going to try my first attempt at scoring this evening.

MONGO - Your scorecard entry post is missing the score breakdown sheet. I can't enter your buck into your team total until that is added.

When you get it added, please either tag me in a reply to this post or send me a PM and I'll get it added.

    Congratulations on the buck!
