Hey John, I guess I'm SCREWED if Greg and I come up to hunt with you this fall.:d You guys will have me hanging out over a pasture somewhere looking at a herd of cows. LOL
OK guys, I'm good for 50 at least! No really!....LOL! I hope to help as much as I can. I'm on new land this year and I think it will be a breakout year for me. Good luck everyone!
I know where Greg is, he's huntin elk in CO. Where you at Gr8? How many inches you good for this year?
Just for fun guys, post the score of your buck from last year and lets see what we come up with. Mine was 142 6/8.
Mine last year was 86". Things will be different this year, i'll have luck on my side. Not just one but 3 four leaf clovers.
GR8's in and what a team! Man I'm Stoked! Hey JM Book me for a solid 150 or less..lol No Seriously in Ohio I won't shoot much under a 130. If I score in PA first that number goes down a bit.
Yeah, I guess we do need a team name. It doesn't really matter to me what we call ourselves. I guess we could come up with something ourselves or wait till Greg/MO gets back from COLO.
Guys as you all know my biggest buck to this point isn't very big. I'm damn proud of it though. In three seasons I have killed three bucks and 7 does. Each buck has been bigger than the last. This year I am committed to holding out for a much larger buck. I honestly don't know what a shooter will be for me. I'm guessing 115-120? But it may well be 105. I won't know until I see him. I do know it will have to be considerably larger than anything I have killed so far. The land I'm on now hasn't been hunted in 3 years and holds some nice deer in good numbers. I found a shed out there a couple of weeks ago that is the right 1/2 of an 8. It has good mass and tine length. I haven't measured it but would guess it to be from a 130-140 class deer. This year is a growing year for me as a deer hunter. I have a few kills under my belt now and its time to get a bit more selective. I will eat tag soup if I have to. I never considered that in the past. If it had a rack I was shooting. I hope I can contribute to our total, but this year I won't shoot a youngster to do so.
Greg, you shoot whatever makes you happy. Don't let any contest influence what deer you take. Good luck on the new property, I hope it holds the one you're looking for.
