Mark...good to see you checking in! Good luck chris! Hope to see some pictures and read some stories! Nice work on the avatar Virginia! Works for me!
Good luck on the hunt. Well boys I found a dead head in full velvet today. Seem as if he was only a year and a half old but still a sad scene
I got a couple trees cut down in my hunting area tonight. Not for hunting but rather for heating. My stand location is LOADED with dead ash trees just dying to give me and my shop some heat. Hate to do it just 3 weeks before season but I have observed that chainsaw activity doesn't seem to bother them a great deal. I've got about 10 more trees to go and then I'll vacate the area for the season other than hunting.
He was a road kill buck. Nothing to huge had a basket rack but it still makes me sick! Looks as if those MO boys should do some hunting together
Good Luck to you also Virginia. I wish I could afford to come up north and hunt around some of yall parts. Be nice to hunt in the snow once! Anything is better than sitting in 60 degree weather in December.
I shot my bow today for the first time while wearing contacts and my groups blew my mind. I normally wear glasses, but wear contacts mostly when hunting. I knew I needed to go ahead and start practicing with them, and expected some difference, but not this much. I mostly just shoot two arrows and then retrieve them in order to not exhaust my arms to quickly. Normally I am shooting each arrow within an inch at 20yrds, 2 1/2 -3 inches at 30, and around 4 at 40. Today I shot 3 groups at 20 with all arrows touching, 2 groups at 30 within an inch, and back to back groups at 40 within 2 1/2. Maybe i was just on today, or maybe the contacts helped that much. What do you guys think? Nice shooting man!
Its killing us on harvest time now. But it is good for the food plots that got planted. Should make more a good winter
Hey guys. Back from the mountains. Unfortunately didn't get an elk but I put in 7-8 miles a day with no luck. That's why they call it hunting! Here's a pic of camp and I'll pull the moose pic of my trail cam later.
Looks like fun. I shot today from the stand. Groupings were not great but enough to do the job. At 35 yrds they were about a 4 inch group. I'd like to get them tighter but it takes some time. How is everyone else doing
