Saw some turkey during the afternoon hunt. No deer sightings, off this morning to do some honey-do chores around the house. Plan on an afternoon hunt, may hump my old man self way back into the swamp just to see whats moving.

Decided to not to hit the swamp stand, was running a little late. Went to the ridge stand, saw 1 doe....................44 yards, no shot to thick.

My dad's checking my home trail cam today. It's 2 hours away so I can't get to it much. This pull determines if I will be hunting the area at all this year. Fingers crossed.

Guys I'm dying out here! Archery only season is over as of Sunday. I've had 5 shooters on my camera but the temps have just been too warm to really do anything. Additionally even at night I'm not getting any bucks consistently show up. And now that I have to wait 2 weeks for the general season to open, the temps are gonna cool off. Well at least for CA anyway. I'll give a quick rundown of my list and luck again so maybe I can ease my own sanity....
#1 IMG_3087.JPG Only pick I've gotten of him which is why I named him "Ghost". And it was mid July. Haven't seen him since.
#2 Goofy.JPG Here's "Goofy". Have a handful of pics of him but only every 3-5 days and not during daytime.
#3 Flame.JPG Named this guy "Flame". Just some neat curves to his points and they look smooth. 2 pics of him on only 2 nights.
#4 No name.JPG No name yet for this guy but I'd like to see him again. Only one pic on one night, but at least it's been recent.
#5 Twerk 1.JPG Twerk 2.JPG Twerk 3.JPG And then there's this guy; "Twerk". 1st pic doesn't look like much but check out the 2nd and 3rd pic. He's got a weird point sticking out of the left side with a fork on the abnormal point. Not sure what to make of him but I'd sure like to see him in person.

So there's my list so far and not necessarily in that order either. I'll stick an arrow in any of them that come by. Honestly as randomly as I've been getting pictures of different bucks, I just have to be there on the right evening at the right time and who knows what will walk by. I just really need the temps to come down. If anyone out there can send me some cool weather starting 9/23 I'd really appreciate it! I guess if this was easy, every one would do it right!?

I pulled the camera out so that I leave it undisturbed and since it's 2 hours away and I don't get there often enough. Basically I told myself if there are any bucks I would do a little early muzzle loader season here. Needless to say I need to do some pest control as well.

No, definitely different deer. The one in daylight is a 9 maybe 10. The night time buck is an 8. The only problem is consistency. In the map below I pinned my trail cam location. From there those deer can go anywhere. Pond North, South, and West with a creek East. All the green is CRP this year and left of the cam is corn. I think they bed in the West timber but I haven't had the chance to do enough scouting. D-town.jpg .

Great bucks and nice tom too! Ya some yote management looks in order as well. I'd just make a gillie suit out of corn and stand right there by the fence! Good luck!

Hey guys I'm already seeing pics posted on the score card thread of guys without their bows in the pics. Make sure to have you bow in the pic so Fitz doesn't have to yell at his own team. :deadhorse:
