I'm pretty pumped up right now. I picked up some Hawk Helium sticks today that will help me be much more mobile this year. Have never really been able to get into a couple spots on my property and this will help a lot. I've definitely got the itch.

 

Well my #2 buck showed up again after being absent for about a week. He just need to come about an hour earlier and there will be enough light. I think I'll call him Goofy since he's got the weird point on the front. Keeping my fingers crossed!

 

I sent him one as well. He has until Monday when I open up the Alternates for assignment.

 

If I was assigned to your team I'm not sure if I'd show up either!

 

We could probably switch you to our team since you are always here anyways.... I may know a guy.

Oh boy Oh boy !!!! Thought the old man was going to have a heart attack in the woods yesterday. Went in to check some cameras and boy do I have some good bucks running on the property. Bad part is I walked all the way in and forgot to bring my replacement SD cards and my card reader will not allow me to save pictures....................ah poo !!!!

Third year on this property and I have only taken two bucks who I considered inferior "wanted them out of the breeding population". I let many 3.5 year old bucks walk last year who would score 130 to 140 easy. Glad to see those walkers grew even bigger. I will be down on the farm this weekend to finalize some stand placements, hopefully I will have time to pull and replace those SD cards.

I almost forgot, Old mans new toy.

Well gents the temps have hit the roof lately here. Topped out at 108 yesterday and when I left to go sit yesterday morning at 5:30am, it was already 72. Needless to say by 8:30 I was done hunting. Although I did find an different buck wandering through the property and his velvet is gone. Nice buck though. Hopefully he sticks around a bit. Headed to Santa Cruz for the weekend with friends and then one more week of archery only season. Temps are supposed to come down some by middle of next week so hopefully deer will be moving a little more.

 

Only one decent one so far, but like others, I haven't checked in a while. Hoping to do so in the next week.
