Well I have a good start on that since I'm in CA and probably in the most likely area where people would want to too that. If you have a link to the article I'd love to read it. If not I'll do a little searching and it shouldn't be too hard to find. It certainly would be interesting to DNA test a buck out here to see what the percentages are. I think it would end a lot of speculation at least for me on exactly how much cross breeding there is. That's cool thanks for the info!
My season opened again this morning gents! I'll be out tonight to see what shows up. Goliath didn't show Wednesday or Thursday night so not sure what to expect. Guess the only thing to expect is the unexpected and I never know what's gonna walk by. That's makes it fun in itself too!
As I suspected, 89 degree temps when I walked in the woods, did not see a single deer. As I sat on the tailgate of the truck for an hour talking to the land owner after I walked out of the woods, I could see deer finally moving in the fields from wood plot to wood plot. These temps have the deer moving right at dark or just after, suppose to to get down to the upper 60's to low 70's by this coming Friday. Patience is my word for the week......................................... Dave S.
Well gents I may have a little luck headed my way. Next week the temps are supposed to come down. This Saturday hi of 80, Sunday 81, Monday 80 with chance of rain, Tuesday 74 and Wednesday 75. May not be cool for some areas but for us, that's pretty low temps. Looking forward to next week and may take a day or 2 off work. Hope everyone else has some luck and Oct. 1st is getting closer for y'all!
Got my first sit in Saturday had to call it quits around 10:30 was extremely hot. check a few cams on the way out have seems all my deer have vanished. This is the first time I have pull my cards and not have a single deer on them since I got this property spring of 2014. Not sure if it the hot weather of somethings else. Hey guys, I'm back! Had a blast in WY, elk everywhere. It's going to take be a couple days to get caught up, but I'm hoping to hit the woods early next week. Sound's like a buddy of mine might be coming up next weekend to hunt too Can't wait to get in the woods.
That’s awesome Fitz! Were you running the Bowhunting.com instagram account during the trip? The stories posted there were really cool. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I run Instagram for them, but I have Todd do the stories, since I live in a different state then they are.
Just joshing ya Fitz! Welcome back! Everyone here has missed you so much that we decided not to shoot anything until you were back
I still got 5 weeks. But Dad planted more radishes and winter wheat in front of the old stable. He says they are in there eating em quicker than he can grow em. They cross in between pond and stable to get to clover plot. Radishes slow em down in front of stable 10-40 yards. Brother says he has two more ladder stands to get up this weekend. Wish I could be there to help. Gonna shoot broad heads (slicktrick standards) again this weekend to be sure they are hitting with field tips. Ordered backup batteries for site and range finder. Trying to cover everything. I can't wait get on the plane. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
