@Trlblzr3 as LC mentioned you're missing your 4th mass measurement. Need one for both sides, it will be mid way between the G3 and tip of main beam. Not aure how I missed that, think it was because the pics are thumbnails and my phone gives me fits with them. Thanks @LittleChief
Not a problem Clint. Just make sure someone lets me know when the score is updated so I can edit the scorecard. I won't be watching for it. Those thumbnail attachments kick my butt too when I'm on my phone. If I want to actually look closely at them I have to take a screenshot, save it and then zoom in.
It's getting interesting. Yesterday, I hunted a farm along the edge of a bedding thicket where I had seen nice bucks in the past and killed a big 7 many years ago. Right before sunset a doe came by with a shooter (heavy mass, I could not tell the spread) following a minute behind her. Unfortunately they passed to my left in the pic and I never got a clear shot. Then a dink brought up the rear in another 5 min. Oh well... (I'll carve out a shooting hole to the trail, but a day late and dollar short, lol). -fsh
Actually the H4 measurement is taken halfway from the G3 and the end of the main beam so may be more or less than the H3.
You're absolutely right and I was totally wrong. I was pretty groggy this morning and for some reason I was thinking six point, not eight point. Maybe I should just keep my mouth shut. I'm going to edit my post so that if Trlblzr3 sees it he won't do it that way. Thanks for correcting me.
I got in the stand at about 245 and killed him at 440. He was bedded down 40 yards from the stand when I climbed in. Really fantastic hunt.
Took the morning off to get the buck in the cooler. Back on Doe patrol tonight. Sucky swirling winds. They most likely move late. I picked a spot we didn’t mind blowing out. My buddy’s on the opposite site of property hoping for a buck to show up.
2nd hunt today after work...by the time I park the car I only have an hour. Still hint in until I find fresh sign. Think I may have bumped a small buck because the bark on the rub was still green. Didn't see any deer but did find this rub.
Struck out on does tonight, had about 15 or 17 come into the beans but they never got close enough for a shot. Going to go out tomorrow and try to fill a doe tag and then drive home on Saturday. I will have about about a week of hunting days in NY till the firearms season opens, then I get back out of dodge and head to Illinois.
