Still hunting hard. Sorry for the lack of updates. Had I hunted my best stand that I've been sitting most of the rut last night (didn't hunt conditions were abysmal wind/rain) the 170" buck walked past my stand around 5:00 p.m. Unbelievable really. I've got quite a few really nice deer still running the property - getting in front of them has proven to be very difficult this season. I will get back out this evening and tomorrow morning more than likely. I imagine I will sit the same stand I did this morning - ride or die with it at this point.
Back at it Thursday if work does not get in the way. Sent from my Lone Wolf treestand using Bowhunting.com Forums
No shots fired last night. Ended up seeing 4 but no bucks. It was verrrrrrrrry windy. Looks like 3 more sits for me this week and early season will be over. Pressure is building to get it done but honestly I feel like I blew my chance at a good one. Not giving up by no means but came to peace with the fact. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
New arrows came in yesterday! Sweet looking and heavy duty sticks! Total weight with 125 grain G5 Montec M3s come in at a smooth 590 grain total. Sighted in to 20 this morning and I'll get the rest done on Thursday. Now I just need to find someone/somewhere with a chronograph to find out my new arrow speed. Overkill to say the least, but I've passed on some good bucks because of under brush, small twigs and even corn leaves because I was unsure of arrow deflection. Worries need not apply much anymore! I'll still not take risky shots, but to not shoot due to small insignificant things in the way, I'm now going full send. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
Nothing but Doe tonight boys. Tomorrow is my last chance for a while. I will bring the bow back out after the weekend but odds are not in my favor once it begins In Venatione Veritas
Only one buck tag, which had already been filled and this guy presents me with a ten yard shot last night... with a camera Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
Nothing yesterday, but not because I didn’t try. Grunted and Snort Wheezed a 110 to 32 yds. Snort wheezed directly at him, bad choice. He came to the field side and I had no back cover. So he slowly walked off and would not respond to more grunts or snort wheezing. Second buck was following 3 does, respond to grunt but not to snort wheeze or rattling walk away slowly and fed for 10-15 minutes. Nothing after that. Orange Army out this weekend probably will not get to the farm, but hoping for a doe out the whole home blind. I will shoot a buck too if he is cruising. I have 3 lanes in otherwise thickass stuff. I'll have to be on my game to switching up radio silence In Venatione Veritas
Pretty slow night. Ended up seeing a couple small deer. Going to hunt tomorrow morning and evening. Hockey in the middle of the day. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Present. Deer have been active all last night and most the day. Seen more deer / bucks on cam in the last 24 hours then I have in a month. They are still fighting and chasing here. Just seems to be a trickle type rut....
