You guys have any interest in creating a groupme app group so we can text /chat as we are in the stand etc.... ? Not trying to take away from the forums but having a conversation on a forum isn't the best....

I'm cool with whatever but I normally do not use my phone while I hunt ( or at least try my dammedest)

I’m down with whatever. Never did a group me app. But willing to try whatever. I try to do the LFTS while hunting but gets to be a pain because I need to put my glasses on to see the phone screen. Old eyes are not what they used to be.

Lets try the GroupMe app. Obviously it will have you download and install the app on your phone and create an account. The benefit is there are additional settings you don't get with standard text messaging group. Basically it won't blow up your phone with text messages.... Please include your forum handle in your name so we know who you are. E.G. FirstName LastName (BHForumName)

It's optional guys!!! Don't need to necessarily do it when you are in the stand.

Here is the join link! Send me a private message with your cell number if you would like a personal invite!

I'd say just a group chat via text if no one opposes sharing phone numbers. If, even one person feels uncomfortable, speak up and we'll use an app service to do it. We can simply create a pm so we don't share our numbers to the public forums. Either way, I like the idea of something like this for more immediate communication capabilities.

It's too bad tomorrow isn't the opener. 20+ degree drop between today and tomorrow. We just had a nice sever thunderstorm roll through with more on the way overnight. Oh well, Saturday can't come soon enough!
Does an upswing in temp also get the deer moving or is it just the temp drops? A weather front is a weather front... right?

It's usually the pressure change that does it. Watch a barometer. It's in most weather apps.

I checked on my food plot last night - the deer are already hammering my soy beans. The protection I tried to put up hasn't done much to deter them this year - it's worked for me in the past a bit but not really this year. I doubt it will be too much of a player for me - but it was more of an experiment and for my own personal enjoyment anyway.

Opener is tomorrow at day break. I'll be working in the a.m. then hitting the evening sit. It's finally here. I'm like a kid on Christmas eve morning!

So I watched a definite shooter for about 40 min. last night from my spotting scope at a range of about 500 yards. He was big enough to get me excited. I went straight to my desk and bought my tags. lol!

That's the first thing I'm going to do when I get done working this evening. I've got at least 3 deer to shoot this year! Plenty of meat for the freezer. There is an early firearm season (that I believe is weapon of choice) that allows up to give additional tags for intensive harvest in my zone. I'm not certain what I'm going to do with that, but I know of at least one land owner that wants me to shoot as many deer as possible off his land. I could, potentially, shoot 8 deer this year if I really wanted to.
Only one of which can be a buck.

Sounds like you are going to need more than one freezer. :)
