Got a picture of this guy, don't think he's a shooter but it looks like he has a huge spike on the right side and 5 points on the left. It's the only pic I have of him.
We shall call him... Captain Hook. I say screw the points.. we take the prize for largest spike ever killed by a bh.c deer contest team.
Baaaahhh I’m dying to get out in the woods. Lets see the pot of gold at the end of that rainbow! Got a new pack yesterday and put it all together last night. It’s the Cabela’s bow and rifle pack. My hawk heliums attach to it really well. October 1st, the high is showing 91. Not to thrilled about that. Hopefully it’ll cool off. Probably going to try to get between water and acorns opening day.
Found 3 more just as big not really in a line or anything but all within about a 75 yard radius. I kept my distance from the others and didn’t wanna stop to take pictures - just stayed long enough to put up a camera and find 3 good trees for hanging stands. I wish u wouldn’t have gotten all up on that first one too. Had some selective timbering done in that area last spring and that rub was so big I just thought it was damage from a skidder rubbing against it until I got up close and realized it went all the way around the tree and it was surrounded by deer ****. Thinking I found the monsters lair.
I pulled a camera I had on some public land today in the rain and the camera got turned around but still caught a picture of a good buck. I'll be hunting in this area this coming week. Last year I had 3 good bucks around this area I call the bent tree. Bottom picture is last years best buck I got of picture in this area.
Just put 11lbs of marinaded from last years does in the freezer to harden up a little to slice for jerky. I have about 3 lbs of ground left and a back strap. Rations are getting low!
