That is probably the best post you will ever put on this website pastorandrew! Love Michigan!!! Sent from my T8788 using Board Express
Sorry I am late guys. Hurricane Irene did a number on my power, cable and internet. I am here now and ready to go. Got a couple average bucks for my area of VA on camera. Will be traveling to southeastern Ohio last week of Oct. Usally see some good size bucks there.
Welcome to the team Trlblzr3! Everyone and everything okfrom the storm? Sent from my T8788 using Board Express
Not much damage for me, one tree blown down, luckily it didn't hit anything. Everythings back except heatpump, but the major heat we had a few weeks ago is gone for now. Real name is Lloyd. I will be doing most of my hunting in VA on private land and will go to Ohio the last week of Oct for a DIY hunt on private land. Been doing this Ohio hunt for 4 years and always see good size deer. The county I live in has an urban doe season this year and it starts Saturday the 3rd of September. Hope to fill the freezer soon. I have a couple decent 8s on camera. Nothing big just decent. Will post when I learn how. Which is best, resizing or posting to another site and posting link.
Yeah 2 blade for sure. I've practiced with it a little bit, obviously have never had it in the field because I've never bow hunted before - but I expect that it will function fine for me and if for some reason it doesn't then I will probably have a back up set with me just-in-case. Probably to late at that point, but ya just never know!
Well I purchased them because I like simple broadheads, I don't like getting really fancy because it just makes me crazy. My problem was that they broke too often. I had six and three of them popped off of their screw piece. I know you can return them for new ones but that got to be a pain in the butt. I also am considering buying NAP Thunderheads again, I got my first deer with one and they have never really let me down other than O rings falling apart/off.
Well it looks like we are just a few days away from getting this contest really started for a few of you! Just want to make sure that everyone understands all the rules. If any of you have any questions at all please ask! We need all the points we can get and don't want anyones deer kill to not count for anyreason. Remember, everytime you go out take a camera! If you go by yourself take a camera with a timer. You can rest it on a tree, treestand, rock, or anything to take a photo. But to have your deer count you must have 2 pictures of you, deer, and your bow!!!! Every year someone gets disqualified for this! Let's not let that happen to us!
Hot Shot Shooters Carbon Distress Tree Top Tidal Wave Crimson Pathfinder(s) Pretty Weak but its what I got haha
Alright I found out the winning score last year was 1153 4/8" by team 6 How confident is eveyone that they can shoot a doe this year? I'm 95% sure I will get the opportunity. Can't ever be 100% sure. I know it's not likely but If everyone got a doe that would already get us up to 600" which would be awesome. Then to hit the 1200" benchmark we would need 6 100" bucks. Just trying to get a grasp on what we need to win this thing. This offseason has seamed like the longest one I can remember. September 17th......
I have the Rage 3 blade but I know it is mental I just mental but I don't have the confidence that they will open correctly every single time. I am sure they they will work just fine but I decided to switch to the 3 blad Bloodrunners for this season and so far I really like them. Now to try one for real! And don't wory PreacherTony we have those extra points covered!!! LOL
I am going to take a doe - I'm just not sure when it will be. I have certain stands that I don't want to take does out of because I have been targeting/planning on hunting bucks in these areas. I don't doubt that I can probably take a doe opening morning, my goal is to take a doe the last weekend of October - this way if she has fawns they will have had another month with momma and I'd rather take one before the rut hits. Obviously a perfect world for it to work out like this, but I've got a plan and I don't intend on deviating from it much.
Found out that I probably wont need surgery this winter, 2 tears in my rotator cuff is a better result than a torn labrum would have been - so that was good news! Got a steroid shot today and should be good to go, we will see how things play out. Getting ready to go check my trail cameras this evening and put out some more sweet feed and cracked corn - hopefully have some good pictures/video to share. It hasn't been much of a year for my trail cams, but maybe my luck will change today!
