Anyone else get the text earlier today from trlblzr3? He got himself a monster today? Hard to tell from the picture but I would say 140's (5x5) maybe low 150's but with only 1 picture I could be way off!!! If he goes 150's that shoud move us into the lead!

Well I shot a doe last night, had good blood - thought I put a good shot on her at 35 yards. Turns out the shot was low, had white hair on the arrow but it did pass through. Tracked for 5 hours to a small drip of blood to nothing... Pretty upset over it. Here is early blood, Blood .jpg

Man sycamore, that does look like good blood. Tough to see that trail not lead to a dear.

Well my GA trip didn't work out like I planned. I went and hunted Wed night, Thur, Fri, and Sat. Didn't see the monster buck I was looking for. My cousin said the deer numbers were down this year. Reason being a 1600ac property 1/2 mile away that a doctor owns planted 300acres of corn just for wildlife. My cousin said it has really sucked all the deer over to his property right now. Acorns were heavy as you can see from the pic below. These euro mounts are some of the deer that have been shot on his ranch up there. I was hoping a bruiser like that would come by but no bueno. Still had a great time though.

    Lets see that buck trailblazer!!!

I saw one fork tonight and 7 fawns so that is an improvement. Not sure when I can hunt next. Probably next Sunday I'm thinking at the soonest.

Ok guys I am back from Ohio. The deer I text Jfergus7 is posted. It grossed 162 4/8.
I thought I was going miss the opportunity to get the shot. I had a button buck that had been feeding 15 yd from the stand for about 15 mins. when I saw the buck coming. The button saw me stand to get my bow and I just knew he was going to spook and the shooter to spook. Well he trotted off a couple steps and went back to feeding. I still had to spin 360 in the stand because of where my bow was hangin and how my harness was across my right shoulder. Every time he went behind a tree I turned a little and was lucky enough to get in position to draw on him without spooking either deer. The deer stopped broadside at 25 yds and I sent the arrow thru both lungs. He bolted and went 60 yds. before he dropped.

Way to go Trlblzr! Weekend hunts have been a bust for us so far - I'm off work for the next week and a half and plan to hunt every day, so hopefully I'll have something to show for it.

I hunted this evening in less than favorable 20 mph winds, but still nice to get out. I seen a spike and a doe late in the evening, coulda smoked the spike at 18 yards but that wouldn't get me much. lol Back at it in the morning, starting to feel pretty good about this season even though I've had some tough luck. It's been a great season and I've learned a lot!
