Congrats on a great buck Trevor !!

Sorry for not being on lately... we are still harvesting corn. Hopefully we are done sometime this week. I do get to hunt in the morning. Have a good spot picked out. The bucks are still after the does so it should be interesting. Going to set up a buck and doe decoy ( Montana decoys ). Frist time getting to use them.

Hey congrats there Trevor!! What is all that green stuff on the ground around you, I think it's grass!? It's all white around here. Sorry, been gone for some time gun hunting. Bowhunting just got real tough around here. Muzzle loader season is open till the 10th, 4 anterless 11th-15th, followed by a 2week reg gun season dec. 19-Jan 4th. How's a guy supposed to hunt w/a bow w/all that going on?

Yup, that green sort of surprised me too. We dont have much snow around here, but the leaves have dropped and the woods are barren now. After I shot, he ran off 300 yards or so into a real thick swampy cane thicket type setting before finally tipping over, I found him exactly where the photos are from. That is the only green within several hundred yards probably, what you are seeing is swamp grass (i think stays green all year) and canes (again, Im pretty sure they stay green as well)....pretty excited when I found him. He bled like a stuck hog for all but the last 75 yards, where we couldnt find hardly any blood...finally found him though. I did get the back end of both lungs, but it surprised me how far he made it on that shot, 300 yards bleeding alot is a long way to make it for a DL shot deer.

Ill get a 2nd pic of my doe up, and it looks like Ill be done for scoring for us...best of luck to you guys, still time left. Ill keep checkin in on your success.

Well, I'm not sure, but does a buck that has no antler get us any points. Gotta be worth something, at least 75 points, he's a 2 yr old I'd say. Thought it was a big doe, but he had extra parts when I went to gut it. Feels good to get one with a bow. Love that late season hunt. The snow makes it so easy to track.

Still at it here. The last 2 hunts have had bucks within bow range. Only one shooter and no shot though. I've still got until January 4th. Got the next 2 weeks off from work so lot's of hunting!!

Is anyone else still hunting. I'm gonna try at least one more time this week, but it is gun season also until the 4th, then season closes completely.

Well boys, that does is for me. My season is closed. Got 2 does, & unfortunately no bucks. But I can't complain, I've got meat in the freezer.
