Saw quite a few decent bucks while hunting this weekend. Nothing big in range.

well, today I talked to the lady that owns the parcel of land I'll be hunting to get the low down on deer activity. She says she's been seeing alot in the early moring at first light. Her apples are almost gone, thinks those are getting hit in the evening. I got a turkey permit, and she says there are 3 turkey families totaling 27 on her property. Also the other day she spotted a real big doe, so hopefully I'll connect with something on thurs.

Dog gone it anyway! I worked yesterday, and only got 3 hrs of broken sleep, then had to go to my part-time job. Too damn tired to go out. If I sat in my blind to day, I would have woke up after dark for sure. That bites, because now I can't hunt until next week Thurs. Sorry boys, just couldn'nt get out there today. Although, I talked to a friend today, & he told me that he spotted a real big 10ptr last night in the same section of woods that I hunt. Maybe he'll come out to play. That 10 ptr has been seen a couple of times around there by people I know, & they don't hunt.

headin out some this weekend...in between the wood duck/teal carnage. 5 day season to kick it with the boys one last time on the lake before it gets cold.

I also made the school trap shootin team last night, so Ill have a few shoots coming up, but shouldnt conflict with my bowhunting.

Tomorrow night should be headin out with turkey on the mind, but if a deer haps by...its a goner as well. lol
Sat morning I can get out for a few hours before the down syndrome walk I volunteered to work.

Very busy schedule here lately, but Im getting basically this entire semesters worth of papers done over the next week or two so itll be a breeze from then till january. I have high hopes of scoring buck and a doe this year...in due time. Hopefully that doe'll come soon because I am cravin a fresh batch of jerky somethin fierce. lol

I was out tonight. Nothing but mosquitos. I did hear something in the woods behind me, but may have been turkey vultures, since I heard them squawking in that area. Didn't matter anyway, to thick to even see, let alone shoot. I'm not going out this weekend, but Mon. eve I'll try again.

Got a few hunts in after work the last couple days. Sucks only getting out for an hour but better then nothing. Had a real nice buck heading my way tonight but he disappeared behind a knoll and it was the last I saw him. :bash:

Will get a hunt in the morning but have to work so not sure if I will get anymore hunting in this weekend after that.

    Good luck guys !!

Damn! I forgot I had to work tonight. Had all my stuff ready to go. 61 degrees & overcast, wind as still as a rock. Dog gone it anyway. I'm going to try tommorrow morning. Man what a bummer. It's perfect out there. I knew it was too good to be true. Can't hunt anymore this weekend cause of my schedule. Next weekend is the gun/youth opener, & weekend after that is the anterless only gun hunt in my area. Not much of an archery season left here. Only good thing is that the private land I'm on, only allows bow hunting, & I'm the only one on it. Well, good luck to the rest of you.

just found out that where i have my blind is the smallest part of the woods. owner told me that at the front of her property it's decieving w/the railroad tracks running next to it. the tracks acutally run on an angle, so the front part of the woods are actually about 5 acres & then thin down to the back part of the property. she even told were exactly the deer come onto her property at the front, along the tracks. hopefully I can get out & do quick peek around there for a stand set up.
