Okay, Don't know if I know who you all are. Let's hear a little about yourself, where r u hunt'n? what rigs u shootn' etc. Team Avatar suggestions?

Myself, I'm huntn' in Wi. Shootn' a Bowtech Tribute. Have some private parcels & public land to hunt on. Private parcels, nothing spectacular, but there are deer there. Nicked a real big boy last yr. Hopefully we'll get to play this yr, if he made it through.

I'm here. I'll be hunting central and southeast Missouri with a Truth 2. I hope to lay down my first with a bow this year, and I think it's going to happen. Oh ya, I'm checking in from period 5 Health right now :).
Look forward to meeting you guys.

Hunting Western KY with a Hoyt Vectrix. Gotta split to make it to English 200 on time, so I'll check in later. I WILL be taking a doe this year, and if the planets align, maybe a buck as well. Cant wait to see how the season pans out.

Killed a limit of dove this afternoon in nearly 35 minutes lol. 6 dove in 5 shots in less than 15 seconds. Barrel was smokin.....

Season opens Saturday...I hope to have a doe down before the weekend is over, we will see I guess. I will most likely be behind the camera Sat afternoon and in front on Sunday. Saturday mornin is up in the air on whether I am hunting or filming.

Alright, we got beginner's luck on our side w/Rory. that'll guarantee a big boy.
Hey Peakrut, if we quit, it's because there ain't no other competition worth carrying our quivers in the field.
Any avatar ideas for the team? the temps here in Wi are supposed to be down in the 50's at night all next week, so hopefully it keeps going that way. TJF been out there yet, & have you seen anything? remember, don't shoot unless it is 6" outside the ears, nothing less than 14Pts!

I hit the woods this morning....but it was terrible. Got there early to set up the DB, got settled in and camera hooked up well before daylight....then right as its getting light enough for shooting hours a truck pulls up and parks not 20 yards from the blind. two guys get out, stands a clanking and took off jogging into the woods. they stamped around for 30+minutes looking for the right tree to climb with...get this....a freaking spotlight. Yes the woods were lit up like fireworks were going off until the sun came up....then they walked out about 730am.

We did see three does, but they were all on high alert high tailing it from their direction....one ran full steam by the blind not 4 yards away.

Dove shoot this afternoon to relax and I'll be back out in the morning.

doesn't that just drive your crazy. What are the chances that with all those woods available they have to set up right by you. I had the same thing happen to me a few yrs ago w/cross country skiers. Dog gone if they don't decided to stop & take a break 20 yds from my blind. Blah, Blah, Blah, complaining how cold its, how out of shape they are, must have gone on for 20 minutes. 500 acres & miles of trails and they stop by me. Are you going to stay in that spot and risk it again?

Nope. It isnt a usual spot for us anyway....it is just 1 mile from my house and loaded with does, so we figured we would give it a shot. We usually only hunt there 3-4 times a year. I likely wont be back unless time is an issue to get out for another hunt.

I hsve a few other (better) places to hit up anyway.

got a little more done for the hunt next week. start packing the backpack, wash the boots & blind. Think I'll be ready for the first day of the season on Wed. night. Can't wait. Been watching a lot of hunting videos. Weather is gonna be great. Getting down into the 40-50's w/highs in the low 70's.

Not much to add. Been pretty quiet. Not sure how much hunting I will get with work but should be able to sneak out for a few more hunts before it gets real busy.

Tembry... sorry to hear about your hunt.

in da woods... good luck next week!!

A bit of good news, seems that the private land I'll be hunting on, the owner said something big has been at the apple tree. So far only the lower apples have been eaten by the deer. I'm hoping it's that 10 ptr from last yr, that used to bed down in the back of her property. We'll see. Can't wait, but I can't go on Wed, I'm working. I will definitely be out thurs. rain/shine. do you guys think I should set up my blind around that apple tree or down the lane where they come in?

If it were me... I would set up down the lane where they come in or a trail they use getting to the tree. Can you get in and out without being noticed. If you set up by the apple tree... you will more then likely get busted when you leave on PM hunts or going to on AM hunts. There is also a greater chance for the deer to wise up to YOUR sign since they will wander around more in that area unlike a trail leading to it. I tend to hunt as close to the bucks bedding areas as possible. Better chance of catching them moving during daylight hours. Just make sure you can get to or leave your blind without getting busted.

Good luck on how you decide to do it.

the biggest dilema w/the property, is that there is a lane cut on the outskirts of the property that is used for riding horses. A small strip of woods is adjacent to this riding lane. I have to park at the front of the property & walk this riding lane towards the back of the property. To describe it better, square piece of property. the riding lane forms an L on the right side and goes around the back of the house. the apple tree is in her back yard by the horse barns. the trail goes around the whole property. the deer often come in from across the street on right side of the property. the deer & turkey often just walk down the riding lane or in the strip of adjacent woods on the right. I was thinking of either putting a blind up where they cross the street onto her property, there are some scrub vegetation there. If I can get there early enough no problem. The problem is getting out of there. I can maybe ask if I could just walk past the house & down the drive way. Does anyone know of a good satelite imagery site, & how to down load onto here, then I can get you opinions.
