Ha idk brother I checked into Cherry Point first time in the fleet and it was pretty ridiculous. They didn't know what unit we were supposed to go to and had go go out into field wearing alphas to talk to CO, only for him to say we were talking to wrong guy ha.

Good luck though man hope ya find a place to hunt

Yeah we can't sign out to our units until we finish all classes, and one keeps getting pushed back. It's pissing me off that I have to sit around for training I've done before, and be stuck with a bunch of dumb (yes these kids are a box of rocks) privates

Ha that's the military for ya though man, hurry up and wait. I was home on leave once waiting for a visa to go to Russia, takes like month and half to two months, and got a call all my paperwork was in. Went to airport, 2 hours from home, ticket wasn't paid for, called they said be there tomorrow and be good. It was and got back to Quantico and our staff NCO asked what I was doin back, told him and he went to check on everything. Ended up being there another two weeks because they called wrong person ha.

Didn't go out today, got up around 5am and really felt like going out, but decided not to, to see if it would drive me crazy not being out there..and it did! So I'm gonna aim for returning to the woods next weekend.
Also with my wife being layed off, I won't be able to come up with the 50% deposit required on January 2nd for my Illinois trip...that sucks hard.

Holy crap ha. Been cleaning up my trail cam pics, goin through deleting and putting bucks into a different folder, and it's taking forever. Had about 15 folders to go through all the way back from beginning of Oct. I don't know how the guys that have a bunch of cameras do it. I only run 5 and it's enough ha.

Hey guys...I guess Im pretty much done bow hunting the way work has been...seems everyone has their head up their hind ends. Been getting a lot of off duty calls & such...sigh...On the up side, I did get an early Christmas present...I came home to a large CVA box on the kitchen table...Box came complete with .50 blackpowder rifle, camo syn stock, and Burris Predator scope and all the fixings!! Got that on a Thursday, had it zeroed in at 100 yards in 5 shots on Saturday and shot a small 6 pointer on Sunday of muzzle loader! One of the best Christmas presents ever!! Ill post some pics in a bit...

That's pretty awesome junior, I've been looking at getting a ml for awhile now and have never pulled the trigger on actually getting it. Couple buddies have recommended CVA so was one I was looking at.

    Congrats on the gifts ha.

This was my first smoke pole buck. Last year I used the other halfs smoke pole & bagged a donkey doe. Honestly that's the biggest reason he gave me one of my own ! He still is waiting for his own chance to take a deer with his smoke pole! Maybe I'll let him!

So Texas just got a HUGE + in my book, went and got my license tonight. It's the super combo (hunting + all-water fishing) which includes 4 turkey tags, 2 mule deer tags, a Red Drum (over 28") tag, and 5 whitetail deer tags, at a whopping cost of 0$. Apparently military don't pay for their hunting license in this great state of Texas!

May get to be out in a stand this Christmas weekend! Got to go out today and meet a guy who has between him and his family around 2000 acres with their ranches and he offered to let me hunt and said there is a 10 pointer that's been hitting the one feeder that I can shoot if it shows up! So hopefully I'll be hunting this weekend!
