Team 13 **Tall Tines & Naughty Pines**

Yea that's way it is on farm I hunt. The bucks only come out during the day at certain times and then after first gun season they go nocturnal and hardly come out during the day. That's way it's been past couple years anyway

 

Sorry I haven't been posting/contributing to much lately! Found out last friday that my wife was getting a lay-off.....effective immediately. That really hurt because she was the bread winner. I feel really selfish going out hunting when money is going to be super tight. even though it won't cost me a thing $$ wise, i feel like I'm needed in the house more. I'm going to try and make it out sunday morning, then thanksgiving morning with my son for our traditional sit on a log and "hunt"!

Also I guess I'm still sort of upset at myself for putting a bad shot on the buck in Illinois, kinda zapped my motivation and drive.

 

Swamp, sorry to hear about your wife. Hoping she'll be able to find something quick

 

Completely understand that lack of motivation. After sticking and tracking to no end, my motivation got up and left. But I felt good about sitting out last Saturday & besides it had been a crappy week at work. I ended up seeing 4 does, 1 small buck, this year's clutch of turkeys 2 people and a black lab! Lol so I guess it made me feel a little better to watch all these things going on around me& no a one of them knew I was there. Tomorrow I'll be taking my Dad out for a sit in the blind and hopefully he gets the opportunity to take a shot at a deer. Hoping to be tagged out by Saturday evening so we don't have to sit in the rain! Good luck every one & Schuls, women like a little bit older gentleman!

 

Swamp sorry to hear about the job situation. ..been in the tough financial situation myself. That reinforced my hunting though because the tags paid for already so I figured it's like "free" food if i get a deer!

 

Joe things will work out in the end, they say stuff happens for a reason. You guys will get through it together!

Sorry to hear about the job swamp and nice going schuls! Ill be out this weekend trying to get it done with the rifle. Ive been passing on the does but I think I might just take one this weekend

Thanks for the uplifting words everyone! I was able to make it out for a few hours today, nice and cold! 5th straight sit without seeing anything. around 3pm my neighbor starts riding his four wheeler along the property line with a ladder stand trying to find a tree for the upcoming boomstick season.


Next sit Will be turkey day with my son!! Really looking forward to it.

Well guys just shot a buck, too bad it was with a gun. Don't think he's huge by no means, but it's been so long since shot one with gun or bow and he was 15 yards couldn't help myself.

Hopefully this week I can get some info on some public spots to try and get some hunting in on plus I will be inprocessing to Ft Hood. Oh and apparently her coworkers and her mom think I'm not good looking enough for her. Gotta love judgemental people that don't even know me. Time to concentrate on other things, like where the heck to hunt.

 

Thanks guys, wish woulda been with bow really but I'm happy with him.
