Yikes, glad nobody was hurt! I'm headed out in a bit to see if the cull buck shows himself. High 70s but he's been moving late afternoon/early evening and the bucks are starting to spread out more on the property also.

At least I am seeing deer this time, just had 3 young doe walk by in some thick brush about 20 yards away across a trail. And a bunch of dang squirrels all over the place. If they had been a little more visible would have had a good shot. Got about another 30 minutes of shooting light left and hear another one down by the creek, hopefully it comes up through here.

Nothing else followed then and not enough shooting light now. Going to give it one more shot next week prior to the move. I'll be in Florida this weekend visiting the parents before I move and be at the UGA/FL game. Go Dawgs

That's one heck of a bait pile (Not implying anything)...Use the track hoe bucket as a stand, put it all the way up and see them coming for miles....:)

In college I was running a front end loader on a bunker silo, got to close to the edge when the 15' high concrete wall started pushing out...About messed my shorts, couldn't get out of that machine fast enough...

Gonna try to get out tomorrow night and Saturday. The wind picked up tonight, their talking 30 mph sustained throughout the night

Was out tonight, what a beautiful afternoon. Saw a buck tending a doe just before shooting light. Watched them for about 25 minutes....Nice night

Ha yea I can see where that'd make ya do something real quick. Crawling around on that stuff is definitely a different ball game then anything else I've ran one on. Take a little to get used but not bad after that, the first day was real interesting though.

Well guys I missed out on a decent 8 or 9 pointer last night. Had him at 25 yards but couldn't get shot.

Ok, so I cant get the video to post correctly. I have never tried to post a video, any advice?

Well I had an interesting day today! I saw nothing all morning but that's because I got there an hour late thanks to daylight savings time, but I had trail cam pics of a couple does and a decent 8pt at 6am. So when I leave my stand I see a deer that I always see in the same exact spot at the same time. I decide to give a stalk a try and I actually got with in 15-20 yards but it turned out to be a small spike so I let him be. While i was eating my lunch in my car the spike actually came in about 15 yards from my car and stayed around for a little while. Fast forward to 4 I had a doe come in at 20 yards which as we all know is a chip shot right...I guess my body didn't know that 'cause I choked and shot right under it. I actually hit it but with the shaft so all I did was give it a shock. 1 min later that same spike and 4 does came in the same path. I took a shot at a fawn that was in the group and I thought I was a little far forward but it did a face plant into the ground so I figured dead deer running. When I see it go down right away I got a little worried and gave it a little time before I got down. I found the blood right away and I could see it was lung blood so I just walked to where I last saw the deer. Turns out that it was just a single lung shot. I had to leave it because I lost the blood eventually and I needed to go home. I saw it run into the property owners brother's property as I was leaving but I know its done by now. I usually never take the shot angle I took but I figured it was a fawn and that it would blow right through the deer which was some what true but I didn't get a complete pass through. It was a good day but this put a real damper on my drive home.

Last shot today, too much to do this week before I move! First pic is out toward food plot and they have been bedding down right off it. Tons of acorns on the ground in here, and the small stump has some liquid minerals on it they've been messing with. Found some droppings nearby as well, somewhat fresh.[IMG][IMG][IMG]

Had a bobcat walk along the food plot then cut through woods to trail behind me, wish I had had a clear shot, dang. That would have been a cool mount.

That would be cool. I have never seen a bobcat. I did see a lynx while I was bear hunting in Ontario last year.

Figures. No deer came through, lost shooting light so gathered my gear and climbed down. Figured I would take a look at a plot down the hill that hadn't grown in too well and of course three deer standing in the middle of it. I hate Alabama.....
