I live like 45 or so mins from Augusta. My brother in laws live in carthage actually, which is like 20 mins from there. Know the area pretty good, some great hunting over there.

Happy hunting! You in Tennessee by any chance? That's where I am from. Wishing all my family back home luck while hunting tomorrow on the opener!

So how was everyone's weekend? Who made it out in the woods? I went to VT and had a great time on Saturday. I was out in the first round of the 3d tournament. HATED the nervousness and pressure I felt, I couldn't even enjoy myself shooting. So I know for sure competitive shooting is not for me at all. Looks like I'll be heading out Saturday afternoon, my son will be going out as well for his first sit of the season! He'll be in his ladder stand over a intersecting buck and doe run. I'll be out by the pond in the oak grove with my climber. Is like to so a sit with him but the field where my double hang is, where I shot my doe from but it has been dead since that day. Could might do a quick rehang in the rain this week out in the oak grove. Not to sure though, leaving 2 lonewolfs on the edge of the property might not be the smartest idea! Unless we hang and hunt that day.... Hmmm

Good weekend, not nearly enough sleep though with work, weddings and my sons football game. Temps are in the 80's here, not worth hunting. Should be cooling down later in the week, might try to get out Thurs or Fri

I'm still waiting for October 25th to get here. We've had a couple of days of rain here and there since we put all those food plots in and he said they are already all starting to grow so should be ready to go for opening weekend. The one stand I'm leaning towards isn't on a plot but back in off the creek and plenty of sign in there that they are using it for a way in and out of the property. I may end up going out this week to set up a blind on the one plot though where the cull buck has been daily since there are no trees close enough to have a good shot from.

Nice part is on the edge of the plot the cover brush growing there is almost same height as me so just cut in a bit to fit the blind in and its basically covered all the way around!

Schuls no word yet, and the contest pages haven't been updated either. I guess Fritz is still elk hunting? Taking the wife out this weekend for her first hunt ever! Pretty excited.

Pulled the LW double hang down. I'm going to do a Saturday afternoon run and gun double hang with my son. Also camo taped my camera arm, to much aluminum! My release clanked on it last time I was out and it echoed through the woods!

I used camo hockey stick tape, it deadens the sound alot
