So after 3 weeks of my one bulldog Gus having some stomach problems/runs and an incompetent veterinarian, went to a new place today and got answers finally. Unfortunately it's not going to be an easy or inexpensive process now. Xray shows his abdomen is full of fluid which is putting pressure on his other organs so he is going to have to spend a few days at the vet and they are going to tap his abdomen and drain the fluid and send some off to be analyzed, and blood work shows a high white blood cell count which means his body is fighting an infection which is more than likely the cause of the fluid. Only organ that was visible was his stomach which looks fine, but the fluid was blocking out the rest. So drain the fluid, another X-ray and possibly an ultrasound, antibiotics, etc. The doc said it isn't going to be a simple fix and unfortunately the costs are already racking up. I can expect between $1200 and $1500 or possibly more depending on test results, but I've got to take care of my babies! Sucks this close to the move to Texas and money has been tight enough as it is but I'll make things happen! Hopefully I get good news from the doc this afternoon rather than more bad news. His sister can even tell now something is up since he didn't come back home with me. Sorry, had to vent somewhere.
Aww dam Schuls, sorry to hear. Let's hope for the best results, I'll be prayin for your pup!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
So far the vet has drained 11 ounces of fluid from his abdomen and wants to get more out then do an ultrasound to determine what caused the fluid. Once that is figured out, we can get the correct treatment going.
Sorry to hear about your pal Shuls....Been there, waiting for the vet to call with news. Hope everything goes well for your bud....
Headed to Auburn, ultrasound shows a spot on his liver and what, may be two congenital tumors between his kidneys and liver.
Aw man, Good to hear they are making progress though. Will they do the ultrasound tonight? That pups got a home he's gotta get back to! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks for the thoughts and prayers, unfortunately Gus took a turn for the worse overnight and I had to let him go this morning so he wouldn't suffer anymore. I wanted to be selfish and try to get him better but that would have required evasive procedures and aggressive treatment which would have hurt him more. I love you buddy and miss you.
Oh man.......Schuls I am so sorry to hear this.....I fully understand the pain and sadness you are going through, Heart felt condolences and sympathy from my family to yours...
Sorry to hear about your loss, dogs bring such joy and unconditional love to us, it's just to bad they can't live as long as us. Thinking of you in your time of loss
