Happy hunting to everyone who's season opens tomorrow! I finally got to get out last night no luck though. I saw one doe from my stand and she was running full speed through the woods and big turkey gobbler but nothing in range. No Sunday hunting here so I'll be back at it Monday! White Oaks are dropping great, anybody else got acorns on the ground?

Well went out to farm I hunt and did a little work to help my buddy out. Worked calves and got combine ready to start shelling corn.

Now for a little good news. While working today asked my buddy about what he was gonna do with the fields when he took crops out. Said he's decided to replant everything with a cover crop for the winter instead of working it all up like he normally does. Everywhere that has been in it will be goin to rye and all the corn ground he's gonna be planting turnips, radishes, and clover mix. So basically I'll be having good food sources to hunt over all season long. Needless to say I was pretty happy with the news. Basically I'm gonna be having alot of big food plots to hunt over ha.

Opening day disaster for me. I set my alarm for 4:45PM! I woke up to the sun in my eyes, still in bed.

I do that once or twice a year. Have a hard time hunting mornings though. Not much of a morning person and fa I hunt isn't real productive on mornings.

hahaha! I've done that quite a few times! I'm a total morning person though due to my job. I'm up at 1230am M-F, so on the weekends getting up at 4am is like sleeping in. One friday night before a hunt i went out to dinner with the wife for date night and i had quite a few drinks. I got home at 10pm, turned my alarm on went to bed. When i woke up i couldnt believe how tired i was, i could barely keep my eyes open in my scent free shower. I got geared up and went out to my stand. I was amazed at how high the moon was in the sky for 5 am. I got in my stand all settled in feeling like total junk. i look over to the east sky, and no sign of the sun i made great time!! I look at my phone, it to says...
1:12 am!!! I forgot to change the alarm to hunting time!! Very long day for me, many naps in the stand! Didnt see anything all day!

Funny. When I was still in school I would do that once a year at least. I would wake up in the middle of the night and shower and eat breakfast in my sleep. My mom would wake up and find me. It would be like 2:30 in the morning. She got a kick out of that.

Got off work Friday morning and ended up getting about 3.5 hrs of sleep during the day, went to bed late (11:30pm) 0430 came waaaaay to early but got out yesterday morning, what a beautiful morning to sit. Had 2 does run passed me at about 80 yds and 20 turkeys feed within 15 yds of me...Hope to get out Monday and/or Tuesday morning for a morning sit...
