So we had a storm the other night and got around 5 inches of rain. Since then, my cell cams have went silent. I'm thinking either there is way too much water in the swamps now that nothing is moving through it, or the actual possibility that both my cameras have been struck by lightning!
I recently had a cam that was dead. Tried to pull the card and it was stuck...apparently close enough to a strike be fried and so was the card.
Buying my tags today! Also going to buy a small gutting knife. I’ve always used a buck knife my dad gave me, but it’s a little big. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Got a few stands hung and cameras up on a public piece I'll be hunting this season. About 100 acres of a great mix between hardwoods, thick nasty stuff, a bit of open CRP area, and a couple creeks running through. Saw tons of tracks and great deer sign.
So the wind prediction has changed once more this Saturday. Looks like my plan will continue to change throughout the week.
Went and scouted my public land area! First time ever on public! I used a kayak to come in from the North side of a huge cornfield/ food plot that Missouri DOC has planted. Walked around for about 4 hours and found 3 potential spots? Bumped a group of about 6 deer at an area between 2 creeks and a CRP area just south of the before mentioned cornfield. Didn’t see any stands out, but did see a couple of items of trash maybe left from last year? We shall see???? Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Ok got my tags!! Bought an SD card, to be able to do an even swap on saturday with my two cams. Bought a small gerber knife with a 2" blade, and a stone. Trying to shrapen it now. This is a skill I never learned how to do.
I'm not a fan of Gerber knives for the most part. I have a couple and just didn't care for them and how quickly they lose their edge. But also I didn't get anything over 50 dollars.
