I run 2 or 3 on every farm I have then never check the regular cams untill I walk past hunting or I can check them off the tractor doing hay or silage. Makes a big difference imo never checking cams with cell cams. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
I've got 8 cams on our 40 acres right now. Will probably cut down to 5 or 6 once the season gets closer because I'll be moving a few cams to a public spot. Sent from my SM-G930V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Ok Guys, here is my Show and Tell. Last season I got lots of good pictures of really nice bucks for our area. I didn't get to let an arrow fly on any of them, but I was close. It was a season of almost for me. This buck I had on a Private piece that I have access to. I call him Crash. I believe he was hit by a car and has a bad hind leg. He has managed to stay alive surprisingly. Next is a buck we call Goofy. Last year he was a crappy 8 pointer. 3 on one side and 5 on the other. He's pretty scrappy and had a lot of broken points. I could have shot him last season at 18 yards. I let him go. This year he will be at least a 3 1/2 yo and I'm not sure how his rack will turn up. We haven't got him on camera though so he might be dead. This buck doesn't have a name. He's a stranger and only passed through at night. But if he survived he should be decent. This buck I only got one pic of. He's a stud and don't have any information on him. I didn't hunt in the area of this camera though and need to learn more on where he might be living or where he came from. Same with this beast. Only got him on camera once over the same exact scrape. I'm pretty sure this area will get attention this season and I'm probably going to place a cell cam over. This buck we call the Split Brow Nine. Even though he broke off both his brow tines. He started as a nine, and ended as a 6 point. His rack sucks but he's got a big body.
Next we have a tall buck we named Silo. He was one we got in velvet right away and then he disappeared. We didn't know what happened to him but we feel he is kinda shy to the other bucks and keeps to himself. Here he is last year in velvet. This year we got him on camera right away. He hasn't changed much at all! This 2nd to last buck is a buck we call Chip. He chipped one of his G3s last season and was a 100 inch 8 point. I had a very close encounter with him and he had caught my scent stream, stopped behind a tree at 20 yards and then walked away. Two days later my hunting partner caught him dogging a doe and hit him high in the back. We couldn't find him and determined it was a non lethal hit and hoped for the best. A month later he showed back up on camera and made it. This is one buck that I'm eager to meet again and kill. Here he is last year. I'm pretty sure I know where Chip likes to hang out. We got him in velvet again this year and is now a 10 pointer. Last but not least, the buck I am obsessed over and have thought about every single day since I saw him on November 1st, a buck I named Rome. This buck was probably a 135 9 point. Probably a 4 1/2 or 5 1/2 year old. He's very mysterious but is definitely one I'll be after. He's my number one. I really hope he's alive so I can KILL him! Here are some pics of when I saw him over a scrape in daylight last year. Here he is about a week later over the same scrape. I ran out of vacation time so I wasn't in the stand at the time. It's gonna be a fun season! Really thinking that something is gonna die!!!!
Thanks my friend! You can still sign up as an alternate, I'm sure there's more then enough people to form at least two more teams!!
30 yard shot at a gopher. Aim small miss small. Good practice for the summer. Sent from my SM-J700T using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
A trailer is cheaper than a bigger truck. Unless you need a reason to buy a new truck...then I completely agree.
I have a trailers. Just a pain hauling trailer 6 hours. I average only 3000 a year on truck when I don't go out of state hunting, just farming is all it gets used for. Hard to justify a payment for that Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
Your truck is ok if you don’t want to change. I just make ready for my ATV to elk trip Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Hey guys! Great looking bucks! I won’t have any pics this year, I may have mentioned this but I lost my private land? I will going in blind on public here in southeast Missouri. I ordered my lone wolf run and gun set up today from Cabelas and hope to scout in about a week? Not sure what I am doing but will give it my best shot!! Could you post up some topo of the area with names and roads blurred out? We would be more then happy to help. Maybe we will see something you might have over looked?
