Opening weekend was a bust. Plenty of birds. lots of wind and rain. No shot opportunities. I also have another tag for the 3rd period in Wisconsin, The birds were not at all interested in the calls or decoys yet. Could not break them away from the hens. I tore my knee up pretty good this weekend while moving my blind to a new location. Hopefully I will still be able to hunt third period. My buddy shot a good tom on Friday.
Made it out this weekend just to have a bust. Had One Tom within distance of bow, but he decided to show me how well turkey can actually fly. Never got back on the trail of another bird.
I've still got 1 more week of hunting in arkansas. We've got 1 response out of 3 days and 3 locations. Going to try next week hopefully these birds are more vocal and not hen'd up so bad.

Called him off his 2 hens, he closed the gap way to quickly and saw us setting up. He skirted us to the right and i ended up calling him back in about 10 minutes later...he came in cautiously and saw my buddy move, he turned to take off and i took a shot at him. Clean miss, he'll be around to chase another day.
Great video, Caleb. I am up to bat again this weekend. Actually hunting Friday though Sunday, weather permitting. It's been raining and snowing here for the past week. The weather says it is supposed to be sunny all weekend.

My season starts this Wednesday but wont get off class and work until Thursday night. Will be hunting with the old man and Trevor Olson to hopefully get a gobbler down!
I hunted hard and just couldn't make it happen. Great to see someone got one. I only talked to 2 people who actually shot one this year. Complete bust
