Do you by any chance remember what the buck you posted above scored? I'm guessing he's about as big as my personal best.

126 and some change. He was my first decent archery kill. My first one was an 86" buck I killed 3 days after I bought my bow in the late season :tu:

Yep, just as I thought. I don't even want to say what my best buck scored now.

You know, I was on the fence about going to Ohio, but if PT is going to start goading me with game camera pics then I'm definitely making Ohio a part of the itinerary this year. :D

Y'all need a little back-story on Ohio. My next-door neighbor's fiancé is retired Navy also. His brother owns a fair chase operation in Ohio and they put down some monsters. He invited me to go with him last year, but we were hunting on their family's land instead of the actual hunting areas that the paying customers hunt. Don't get me wrong - I enjoyed that immensely. I've never seen so many bucks. They just weren't the big boys.

Anyway, while we were there last year the two of us who went with my friend met his brother and he seemed to take a liking to us. He said that if we came back next year he was going to let us hunt one of his farms he usually reserves for the clients. I suppose that now we're going to see how that goes.

I can't believe I was considering passing on that.

    1312 / 12 = 109.33 pts per person.

    Sooo... That's a 60" buck and a doe each.

Cake dudes!! We can do that!!

Or - those of you who consistently kill monsters go ahead and do that, the rest of us kill 90" - 100" + bucks and a doe and we set a new scoring record.

You know, not that it really matters that much, but this team really does have a shot at winning this. :D

With this team I think we actually can win, for most of us I'm sure a doe is not a question and a 100 incher shouldn't be a problem so if we can pull something like that off didn't seem that hard, jut talking about this gets me sooo pumped I get the chills just thinking that ill be hunting less than a month from now, it's starting to get serious now boys!

My bucks have started getting more nocturnal lately, unfortunately. I set up more cameras this weekend trying to dial in their daylight activity, so we will see next weekend if I got any closer. Wonky still comes by during the day sometimes, but I'd love a crack at Trident or 3rd and 7 first. Then it's doe slaying time :tu:

Damn I'm getting antsy for deer season! At least dove hunting will keep me preoccupied until then

Here are a few pics from this past week. I included the bear even though they do not mean much for the contest, however we have confirmed 4 different adult bears and have quiet a few daytime pics.

the food plot is the 2 acre brassica plot in its 3rd week. As someone mentioned its all about getting the tags filled with a few nice bucks

Also going to take a look at a WMA about 25 miles west of Fargo this weekend... hoping to put one down... at least get a few hours in and test out all the money I spent in the off season ( new LW alpha, sticks, safety harness, arrows, clothes, etc.) So be ready for that text Friday evening!
