What up guys!? Sorry for my lack of participation. I've been extremely busy lately. Haven't been up to my farm since July but here is a new buck that I've got a few pics of . He has a nice flyer coming off of him which is where we got his name. Hopefully, I'll get back up there and check on the camera's this weekend and see if we have anymore of him. Pics aren't the best, he isn't the biggest buck but he would be hard to pass on just because of that drop.

I think that's what I did last year, I hunted one stand and was too stubborn to move it. I have one more stand to put up that gives me a good view of the field that would make more sense to hunt early out of. At least I'll get some real feedback seeing them move around.

I'd be hard pressed to pass that up too, that's a cool thing to see.

55 degrees out this morning, it has not been this cool this early in many years. It is making the countdown to opening day a lot harder. I can't freaking wait.

    15 Days until opening day.

Finishing up my tree stands today boys. I will have a few more to hang situationally as the season progresses. Doing the last bit of food plot work as well, all 9 of my plots are making good progress. Im starting to transition my cameras to scrapes as well.

Also have a new sight and arrows coming for my bow, making the jump to 1 pin.

As for my camera setup, waiting on my external monitor and an XLR cable for my mic and she should be ready to rock and roll. Pretty excited for the 2017 season.

What did you get? I went to the HHA Optimizer .010 and absolutely love it. It took some time t setup, especially after I put the tape in the wrong spot and had to do it all over again.

I got the Trophy Ridge in .19. Got it spot on at 20 yards after about 4 shots (got lucky) waiting for HHA tapes to come in the mail. Ive pretty much always had Trophy Ridge sights and been very pleased.

Went yesterday morning and saw two does 45 yards away running, this afternoon saw five deer total but wind change and the does bust me, started making their wheezing air sound. Getting close guys! Getting close!

I still have one on my old PSE bow, good sights and I don't think I've ever been let down with anything from Trophy Ridge. The PSE has the revolution arrow rest as well, great rest for the price.

That's great! Are you guys going to get any fallout from this hurricane coming up the coast? Perhaps the hunting will be great once the storm passes, I've always had good luck right after a storm...well not a hurricane.

A friend of mine was driving past where I hunt and saw one of my deer, super pumped and looks like I've finally convinced myself to sleep in opening weekend and hunt the afternoons. He said it could easily be a 170+ pound deer. fingers crossed I get a chance at him in the daylight, this is a pretty good deer for the area.

For what I've seen, no one really knows where the hurricane is going to go for sure within the next 3 days But I don't understand how people can predict climate change 25 years from now.

Ok guys I'm done with the strike team shelter and back on regular duty. I am ready to start hunting and hopefully putting some points on the board this season. Prayers out to all getting hit by Erma.

I went today and turned out that 200 meters from where I set up a buck walked through. 8 times out already this season. I am getting closer.

    Hi team.
Looks like some of you are getting ready pumped up for the season.
Temps are getting cooler here and even had a light frost.
Helped a father/son team get their bears last week.good times.

Anyone check out the scorecard yet? There are some nice bucks hitting the dirt, 10 more days!!!
I've been checking the weather and I'm not happy about it, looks like it will be back up to the high 70's low 80's for opening weekend. I guess this cool weather was just a tease. On a positive note, the days after look like the temps will be dropping again. I'll just be happy to sit in the stand again.

Yep, some nice bucks already being killed.
Have been seeing some nice bucks but still don't plan on hunting till mid October.
I may try to take an extra doe in a zone where they are giving out extra tags?

I am usually hunting by now, but I have been fishing with all of my free time, and now that I have a boat the fishing bug really has me. My Kansas trip is less than 2 months away.

Things are continuing to take shape here in Ohio boys.

Built another tower blind and put it on "the point" this week. We've always wanted a stand in this location and finally did it. Had a few of my best hunts ever overlooking the field its in.

Food plots are taking final form well. This wet cool weather has been great for my brassicas and clover.

Working on some video stuff today that ill get posted.

Some of my regulars on trail camera right now:

Senior, who's 7 years old and my #2 hit list buck. Been hunting this guy for a long time, and his core range continues to shrink as he gets older. There's a real chance I'll have an opportunity at this buck this year. I had him skirt me at 60 last year just outside of my food plot.

These next 3 are the triplets. All of them are 3.5 years old and have been hanging out together all summer. Senior Jr, Hook Jr and The Future. Most likely would get a pass unless the video quality is amazing.

My #1 (Captain Hook) hasn't been photographed on my farm since June 8th, but the neighbor has been getting him at his mineral licks all summer long. Making me kinda nervous that he hasn't ventured this way yet.

Here all my elevated blind setups, including the new one on the point. These are great for self filming and especially hunting over food sources after the leaves drop.
