We are finally getting a cold snap, down from the 80's to low 60s and even 50's. Going to sit at a new place a I scouted this summer tonight and hopefully Friday night at another new piece. Happy to shoot a slick head, but happier still with a buck ;)

Hey guys. Checking in. I was hoping to get some time in on this first cool front but sadly my father passed away Tuesday evening. He was a loner so ive been having to take care of a ton of stuff with his house and all the other stuff. Just glad he isnt struggling anymore. My wife thinks i should sneak out for a couple hunts to take a break so we will see. Good luck to you guys. Hope to be in the woods soon!

    Sorry for your loss Shocker.

On my sit on Wednesday I watch 4 bucks get up from a bedding area, 3 smaller ones and one mature 8 point shooter. We have a a nice cold front with 20mph NW winds which are perfect for me to sneak up and get close to their bedding. I didn't get the best look at him as he was 200 yards from me, but he will have to be pretty big because it is a 1.5 mile walk out and I am not doing that for an ok deer, lol.

Cold front is here! I can't make it out today. Will be out tomorrow. My target buck has shown back up. I've had him on cam 4 times this last week. I went a month without any pics. But the last 2 years he has been a resident in Oct thru December. So hope he keeps to his usual travel patterns and hangs around

Made it out. Beautiful evening. Saw 3 does. One looked about the size of a giraffe. By the time i could even reach for my bow they were back in the thick. Almost shot a blonde coyote too but same as the deer it was moving too quick.

My cellular camera caught the action. They really buck high when it’s a lethal hit.

We have one plot that im trying to leave alone. But it is by far the most active spot we have. I get about 60-100 pics a day. I told myself i would stay out of it until a big boy shows up daytime so im trying to restrain. We definitely have a super healthy population of 2yo bucks as well so hopefully they continue to thrive. IMG_5048.jpeg IMG_5049.jpeg

I actually I give most of my deer to a buddy. He is less fortunate then me and loves to eat it with every meal. I keep one a year usually but shoot 5 to 10. Only one will be a buck.
