MN season opens Sept. 16th, but I am not sure how much hunting I'll do until Oct. I was drawn to hunt a park this year, hoping to knock down something mature then since there will be much less pressure. I only hunt public land, so sometimes it can be tough finding those out of the way spots.

Wisconsin hunter here as well. I'll be mainly hunting my grandpa 40 acres. I'm basically the only one that bowhunts there and there is some other pressure during rifle season. I will prob try to hope around on some public at times also this year. I lost some private ground that was good to me over the years. Have 1 main guy to go after so far. Passed him twice In 2021. Never laid eyes on him last year but plenty of pics. 6b473fcb-d216-49d0-8d01-5665ace8a710.jpg 7f9b3fcd-4968-44e8-903c-dcc24612117c.jpg

Heck yea. You guys have some good stuff lined up. Hope they stick around. Ive got one decent one and a bunch of small ones at the 205 acres next to the house. There are known slammers in the area i just havent caught them on camera. Hope the rut will bring one by. Usually around mid october it starts to get exciting there. This is the decent one and i may pass him havent decided yet. IMG_4199.png IMG_4197.png

then if im lucky enough i will get to maybe get a shot at this guy if he doesnt get killed by gun season. I cant hunt the place till after that. Mega 10. IMG_3392.jpeg IMG_4538.jpeg

These are the only real good pics i have this year. Kinda hard sometimes in illinois to get good pics not being able to put out minerals . Not worried though there are usually always a handful of 140-160” 4+ y.o. In the areas i hunt.

Couple Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois, Kentucky/GA, and looks like Chase is from Missouri. We are all hunting big buck states. We have some good North to south coverage as well.

I posted this in the Smacktalk thread, but I'm going to post it in every team thread so no one misses it:

I want to take a minute and clarify a rule in the contest and emphasize the importance of getting your required two different photos with the buck, the bow and you in the pics for entry on the Official Scorecard. The rules read:

Scoring system will be as follows:

Each participant is allowed to enter ONE antlered deer as their “Buck Score”. This must be the FIRST antlered deer that you harvest during the season.

We had an instance last season where someone in the contest killed a buck but failed to get pictures of the buck. This not only resulted in the buck not being counted towards the team total (of course), but also prevented him from entering another buck killed later. ONLY the first buck you kill can be entered, so make sure you don't make the mistake of not getting TWO good pics that have you, the bow and the buck in them.

Thanks chief, as easy as it sounds, it doesnt take much to get caught up racing the clock or the weather and totally forget about pics. I always thought how in the world could anyone forget that. Then it happened to me. Deer was skinned out and at processor before i realized i forgot! Cost my team 50 pts

Texas hunter over here! I'm the lowest man on this list of states and this continent! he-he! I'll be hunting my private property here in E. Texas. I also have a large region(1000+acres) of National Forest(public) that connects to my 100 ac. home plot! Season starts here Oct. 1 with the extreme drought and heat I hope this season wont be a bust!

Yea hes a brute. Its on my great aunt and uncles farm. My uncle and cousins will be chasing him until first gun season. If he survives that i will het a chance at him. That farm always has a monster running around. About 5 years ago ther was one that put this buck to shame that all chased for few years. But sadly he got hit by a car.

I messaged Chase again. He hasnt been online since last Saturday so hopefully he checks in soon. Until then we can start thinking about team name if anyone has any ideas. Also does anyone want to be captain?

At least when it's a doe you can kill another one and enter it. :tu:

I've almost blown it myself a couple of times. I had started skinning and then remembered the pics. Fortunately I always process my own.

I used to and have an awesome setup to do so but after so much time in the field and having small kids at home its tough. I have a good farmer friend that processes local at his house and has the whole 9 yards so hes been doing mine for cheap. One day ill get my stuff back out. I do enjoy it

I enjoy the first one or two. By the end of the season I get really tired of it, but it's a real money saver when you kill a few.
